Betting on the Lightning to win in San Jose and other winners for tonight's action.

I had a poor performance last week and my Pens once against screwed me. Looking for a solid bounce back this weekend with what seems to be an easier slate of games. I need to go 5-1 at a minimum to make up for last weekend’s 50% performance. Due to time constraints I won’t be writing too much for this piece but the analysis is there… time to #GETTHATMONEY.

Record: 32 – 16

Washington @ Winnipeg (3pm ET)

Caps come into this one riding a six-game winning streak. Everything seems to be clicking in Washington and their goaltender is playing on a heart of fire as he looks primed for a run at the Vezina this season. Braden Holtby is the net minder I speak of and the Jets should have a tough time this afternoon as their last win came against Sparky from the Leafs. Give me the Caps here to keep rolling as the Jets are a mess in net and if Connor Hellebuyck gets the call… he will get a nice dose of the Great Eight.

Key Stat: Capitals are 8-1 in the last 9 meetings.

Pick: Washington – Visitor Team Win – V

Toronto @ St. Louis (7pm ET)

I like the Blues here although they have been inconsistent in their last 10 games going 4-3-3. Why do I like the Blues? Garret Sparks is why. With James Reimer out with injury it looks like Sparky will get the call and in his last start he got a reality check from the Jets after getting a shutout in his first start. I don’t think the Blues will pound Sparky to the tune of six goals but this should be a relatively easy win for the Blues. Take the Blues.

Key Stat: Maple Leafs are 0-4 in the last 4 meetings.

Pick: St. Louis – Home Team Win – H

Montreal @ Carolina (7pm ET)

Simply put the Hurricanes suck. The Habs are good. It doesn’t matter where this game is played the Habs are winning 99.9981% of the time. Give me the Canadiens.

Key Stat: Canadiens are 5-0 in the last 5 meetings.

Pick: Montreal – Visitor Team Win – V

Nashville @ Detroit (7pm ET)

As a Pekka Rinne owner I must say WTF?!? He can’t stop a beach ball right now. His last 10 games have been atrocious and there is no way I can put my money on the Predators right now. What I can do is fade them until Rinne figures out his shit. Bad news for the Predators is that the Red Wings have 10 goals in their last two games and you know it’s a matter of time until Pavel Datysuk gets it going. Give me the Red Wings.

Key Stat: Predators are 2-5 in the last 7 meetings.

Pick: Detroit – Home Team Win – H

Boston @ Vancouver (10pm ET)

What a disaster in Boston. Lucky me, another goalie that I own… WTF Tuukka?!? Once again I can’t put my money on Tuukka Rask as he’s been just as bad as Rinne. The Bruins battled hard last night against the Flames but were eventually beaten in overtime. This is just a bad spot for the Bruins on the tail end of a back to back with both goaltenders looking like poop. A Daniel and Henrik Sedin stack would be nice tonight for DK. Give me the Canucks.

Key Stat: Bruins are 1-5 in the last 6 meetings in Vancouver.

Pick: Vancouver – Home Team Win – H

Tampa Bay @ San Jose (1030pm ET)

Does anyone know if Joe Thornton plays hockey anymore? Jumbo Joe has hit a wall with one points in his last seven games. The Sharks have been in a mini-funk after returning from their Eastern Conference road trip in which they decimated every team. I took the Sharks in their game versus the Pens earlier this week and I was so unimpressed with what I saw during that game. Based on that performance, which may be silly, I have to take the Bolts here. This should be a low scoring affair and with Alex Stalock projected to start… give me the Bolts.

Key Stat: Lightning are 4-0 in their last 4 vs. Western Conference.

Pick: Tampa Bay – Visitor Team Win – V
