Top 100 Keeper League Goalies – January

The Top 100 goaltenders to own in fantasy hockey, January edition (keeper leagues)…
As always, consider goalies within a tier fairly close to equal value. Goalie values fluctuate more than any other position. Two months ago Carey Price was king and Louis Domingue was unheard of, Anders Nilsson had stolen the top job in Edmonton and Cam Talbot's career seemed to have hit a wall. Pekka Rinne and Ryan Miller were off to very solid starts, and Karri Ramo was waived to the AHL. So how are those things going now?

Interesting that you continue to favour Andersen over Gibson. At this point i think the job is Gibson's to lose, which he certainly could with injuries.
The Ducks seem to want Gibson to succeed more than Andersen who seems to be getting the Elliott treatment
Or the Neuvrit treatment or the Ramo treatment or the Greiss treatment.
Gotta make the GM look good… right?
I believe Andersen is more talented. We’ll see, I guess
Andersen is more talented than Gibson…. Ok Dobber
Two responses to that: 1) You know me. You know I don’t flip-flop with the weather. Most fantasy owners do – they flip-flop faster than you can say “flip-flop”. In keeper leagues, I stick to talent even if a slump or hot streak lasts several months. Andersen is better. 2) I formed the Andersen opinion a couple of years ago when I once implied that Gibson was better. I got two emails from two different Anaheim beatwriters chastizing me for it. They swore up and down that the organization strongly feels it’s Andersen.
Still no Hellboy in the top 25? Started 17 of the last 19 games. If the Jets don't implode this offseason, he will firmly in my 2nd tier.
He’s 28th. Worth a discussion? Tomato vs. tomatto? Pavelec making $3.9 million next season will act as a drag on Hellboy due to a reduction in expected starts. Deserved or not, teams give goalies a chance when they’re paying him a lot of money.
I understand Korpisalo doesnt have much of a pedigree but is he not a top 100 Keeper league goalie? Im asking because I know with Bob there long term and Forsberg still in the mix, do you see him jumping up some slots now thats hes leaped Forsberg on the depth chart and showing some high end talent at times? Trying to get an idea on how to value him in my 20 team dynasty that is very goalie starved.
When I say high end talent, I'm just referring to the game he stole against Toronto and I think he followed that up with another strong game. Previous to that he looked shaky at best.
an oversight. He should have been around 80th, not 116th where I have him
Can you explain please Mrazek’s placement so low? A young and talented G who’s doing great things on a good team… is it the competition he’s going to be facing?
Jimmy Howard makes $5.2 million this year and each of the next three. He’ll NEVER be out of the picture. He’ll always be that monkey on Mrazek’s back. Until he’s traded or bought out, this situation will be in danger of a 60-40 split or worse.
Not that it matters all that much, but how/why is Quick still a “tier 2” Goalie. I get that you have a man crush on Rinne but Quick is a much better, younger goalie and is a tier 1 NHLer at that.
I agree. And I don’t like Rinne at all, so you don’t get that I have a man crush.
Reason: I just missed it. That’s it.
John Gibson would be near the top of my list….
You have a right to that opinion. I’d trade you Gibson for Andersen and a 1st (secretly happy just with the Andersen part). And then we’d see. In the end, injuries will determine this. I don’t own either goaltender, so I’m completely unbiased here. Can you say the same?
I have both at the moment in my keeper but I believe Gibson is the better keeper
