Top 100 Keeper League Goalies

The top 100 goalies to own in fantasy hockey keeper leagues, February edition…

These rankings are based on keeper leagues, but how much they can help you this year plays a big part – more so than with skaters. This is because the goaltending position fluctuates so much. One day you're a starter, the next day a rookie stud steals your job, the day after that the hotshot rookie gets injured and the job is yours again. Injury proneness and how much a goalie has to share the net also plays a significant role.

Because of how the position fluctuates, it's best to compare goalies within their tier. One Tier 1 goalie is as good as another (unless the name is Price or Holtby).

As always, go to GOALIE POST for the full list of 100 goalies.

Where do you see ranking Gibson at year end if Andersen does not get re-signed? Anaheim has been on a roll lately, but understand right now it is a fairly even split

His value skyrockets. But he’s injury prone, so that would keep him out of the Top 5

not sure how you got dubnyk as a tier 1 but not Mrazek. Do you not think minisota would trade Devon for Peter straight up in a heartbeat if they could?

Of course they would. But I think you’re misunderstanding the spirit of the “tiering”. This is for fantasy hockey. The goalie making $5 million with ZERO competition for his job will get 60-70 starts regardless of talent. The goalie making $2 million (or whatever) with a “backup” who makes $5 million (or whatever) will be lucky to get 55 starts. Lucky. And a great goalie this year could be a terrible goalie next year, you see it all the time. So you have to look deeper, towards the contracts – big money goalies get the starts first. So in fantasy hockey I trade Mrazek for Dubnyk easily. Easily.

Would you consider trading Price in a keepers League over anyone in the top 9 ? He probably dropped due to his injury however I would see him Top 3 otherwise.

I’m curious to why Luongo is ranked after Dubyk. I currently own Dub and am growing impatient while Luongo I have offered O’reilly for to keep Luongo next year and dump dub.

I love the rankings and I actually agree with most of them. I’m currently drafting for a keeper league that has (for goalies) 2 starters, 2 bench slots, and 2 (or more) minors slots. I already have Quick, Allen, Frederik Andersen, and Vasilevskiy, but I’m looking for another top goalie prospect. I looked at your extended rankings, but I’m curious to know your thoughts on younger goalies with the most upside. Taking into consideration their potential and likelihood of them actually playing within the next few years, are Fucale and Comrie really the best or would it make more sense to take someone with less in front of him like Saros?

    Thanks!
