Dallas Stars Acquire Kris Russell from Calgary

Fantasy Impact: The Dallas Stars acquire defenseman Kris Russell from the Calgary Flames for Jyrki Jokipakka, prospect Brett Pollock and a conditional second-round draft pick.
The Stars get: a top shot-blocker and solid two-way defenseman who can fill in as a puck-mover on the power play if needed. Unfortunately for Russell's fantasy owners, it's unlikely it will be needed. He'll be used in a defensive role.
The Flames get: a solid prospect in Pollock who was a second-round pick in 2014 (45th overall) and who is a potential power forward. They also get a depth defenseman in Jokipakka, and that second-round pick becomes a first rounder if the Stars get to the Western Conference Final. Fantasy Players impacted: None. Really this does nothing in fantasy hockey. Russell is on pace for 21 points and with Dallas he finishes with between 20 and 22 points. The number of blocked shots won't change, nothing changes. His absense from the Flames' lineup opens for the door for a prospect, but nobody of fantasy significance. With the ice time that Russell will eat, it should ensure that promising prospect Esa Lindell remains in the AHL for the remainder of the season.

I have seen Jokipakka play and I believe he could be the sleeper in this deal. He seems to have an offensive upside if given the chance.
