Top 100 Rotisserie Players: March 2016

Mike McMillan

2016-03-17

The Top 100 rotisserie league Fantasy Hockey Rankings are here to guide your team into the fantasy playoffs and (hopefully) to a league championship.

The last stretch of the season is finally here. All our work getting our teams together through trades and scavenging the waiver wire is complete and now it’s time to see the results.

The Top 100 Rotisserie Players list for March is slightly different than previous months.  I’ve been playing with a new approach in putting together the player values by using some of the free tools provided on the Frozen Pool page of DobberHockey.com.

Here’s the breakdown on how it all works if you’ve never used it:

NHL players compared for every category! To save your custom stat categories, just bookmark it.

The numbers are representative of a combination of average and deviation to the average for the date range selected.

Zero being the average, a player with a higher number is above average. Conversely, a player with a negative score is below average. The higher the number, the more dominant the player is leading the category!

'NHL Score' is a stat category comparison vs the entire league.

Player values are still weighted over multiple seasons to try and determine a player's production consistency. For this edition of the Top 100, I’ve taken 80% of the players value from this season and 20% from last season (Rookie values are this season only).

To add a predictive element, we take a look at which players are likely to regress back to career averages and which players are due for hot streak over the course of the season using shooting percentages.

Based on the differential between player’s shooting percentage this season compared to their career average SH%, we find some players that should climb up to the top 100 in the last few weeks and some that will fall off…

The categories included in the values are G, A, +/-, PIM, PPP, and SOG. Remember: This is NOT a points-only ranking, but a ranking for rotisserie leagues. Here is the March Top 100 Roto…
