The Top 100 goalies to own in fantasy hockey, September edition
In this September edition, I'm gonna make you do a bit of work. That's right, I'm going to make you press your finger down on the left mouse button (or the right button, if you use a lefty mouse like I do). I'm only giving you the Top 20 goalies here below, and to see the other 80 goalies on this list I ask that you visit GoaliePost.com. It's the time of year to shine a spotlight on that site and urge you to make it your go-to starting goalie info site. When you go to Goalie Post, along the top menu is the option Top 100 Goalies. The full list is there. Sorry for the extra clicks, but your finger looked like it was getting out of shape anyway so this workout will do wonders for its heart.
Because a LOT of goalies are similar in value, it's best to treat them by Tier. Goalies in the same Tier are equal in value. So any bluster about how Henrik Lundqvist is a far better goalie than Tuukka Rask will fall on deaf ears – because they are equal in value. A goalie moves up or down a tier based on: 1. Track Record, 2. Potential Wins (i.e. team) 3. Job Security (how good is the backup?) 4. Potential Workload 5. Proneness to Injury 6. Potential outlook for the next two seasons. 7. And of course – talent.

Flabbergasted how a goalie who has never put together anything close to a full season of quality work playing for a team that hasn’t made the playoffs in over a decade is #12 on this list, but I’ll take it under advisement!
Well, at least you said it nicely lol. You should review the comments that were made when I had Ben Bishop around there three summers ago. Wow – they didn’t hold back. (PS – every one of those commenters still send me thank-you cards)
I guess it’s a good thing then that I kept Schneider and drafted Talbot this year?
Or a Price with Talbot as # 2
Hahaha, well played Dobber. Well played.
custom league 16 teams. Goalies are very valuable. 5 keepers. Keep Fleury/Murray combo or let Murray slide & keep an additional skater like Monahan? I feel I can still let Murray slide & get him back in my draft. I have a late 6th round pick after the keepers are selected. Anyone have any thoughts on this. Draft is tonight at 6PM. Thanks!
Interested to know why Jake Allen is considered a tier 2 goalie, is it because he has never been a true #1 before?
Well.. I came away with a trio of Bobrovsky, Talbot, and Gibson. I feel like between the chance of a rebound for Bob, and the potential of Talbot and Gibson this has got to work out.
