The winning formula – your hunch combined with my player knowledge! Why is that great? Because you know what teams will get out of the first round and you have a good idea what two teams will make it to the Final! The problem is – you just want to make sure you get the right players in the right order.

Enter Dobber.

I have ranked the players value in the playoffs. Why is my opinion so great? Besides the fact that I study these guys 24/7, you mean? Hey – I'm a statistician. I'm not some bonehead writer who can't put two numbers together. I'm a numbers guy!

If my opinion isn't valuable, then I guess the good people at The Hockey News, XM Radio, Pool Expert, The Fourth Period, The Forecaster, Sportsnet, Yahoo! Puck Daddy are all wrong to come to me for fantasy content.

DobberHockey.com is the No.1 source for all things fantasy hockey. Knowing this, it should be easy for you decide if you want my help to win your office pool …or if you'd rather give some wannabe your business.

How it works:

1 The opening round of the draft tree is set for you. It is up to you to choose for the rest of the rounds using the drop box on each branch

2 If you receive this product early, you can re-download it after the NHL season is complete. However, if your draft is early, you can still consider players who are on teams that are just outside the Top 8 via the "Still in it" feature. I left the teams there, you can manually – via the drop box – give them an amount of games to consider for the final output (up to 12 games). For default, consider players on those teams as potentially playing five games.

3 You can change your picks and run your list as often as you like.

4 You can re-sort your list via player name, points or team, as per your needs using the buttons given.

5 "Optional Bonus" – this is a feature that I added for those of you who feel very strongly about a certain team. If you think Team X is going all the way and you really want to stress that team, you can give them bonus games that will pad the predictions of players on that team, and thus skew those players higher on your list than the other players.

6 If your pool has goalies, there is a Yes/No drop box for goalies

7 Rule of thumb for my sleepers/dark horses – the tie on your list goes to the sleeper/dark horse. Also, if you have players from a certain team and you see a few lines down your list that there is a sleeper from that team, then take him.

8 The odds of picking all eight first round winners are small, so you can cover your butt a little by giving teams "bonus games" (see point 5) to adjust further

9 I gave "some" games played to backup goalies because there is always the off chance that they get in and take over – so I gave them "some" value for deeper pools to consider

10 Injuries – I penalized the player as I see fit – guessing when he would be back, if he even misses games at all. No need to make further adjustments, but that is at your discretion

11 I also give you my own Draft List. This is the list I will be carrying into my own drafts. You can use mine, or create a couple of your own scenarios!

Complicated? I'll give you a picture of what the 2014 version looked like (this year looks the same, but obviously with different players):

What you need: 1) Microsoft Excel 2) Macros ENABLED (to do this go to "Tools" and "Macros" and "Security" in your Excel and make sure "High" is not selected). 3) A printer. That's it!

NOTE for Mac Users and Google Docs – there is a way to work this, you don't need the macros – you can just manually sort. Three steps (and I outline those in the "instructions" tab in the spreadsheet)

Not sold yet? I don't know what else I can do, short of mailing you your playoff pool winnings right now. I'll tell ya what, I'll give you a Dobber Guarantee: If you correctly choose six of the eight teams that make it to the second round and correctly choose both Stanley Cup finalists…and use this list, you will win. I guarantee that, or I'll refund your money.
