Any reason why Djoos not on the list or just an oversight?

    • NHLGodfather 2017-10-12 at 10:46

I was thinking the same thing.

    • Dobber 2017-10-12 at 12:38

The reason is that he ranked 56th, and using the +/- 5.0 rating points rule that ranks him between 34th and 100th.
The rankings were done on Tuesday and posted Wed/Thurs. So as of Tuesday, here was a guy who was a healthy scratch three straight games.

So of course, the day after he has a two-point debut, I suppose I can expect these questions!
A strong month would certainly move him up.

Not criticizing, just curious. Thanks for the reply.

        • Dobber 2017-10-12 at 14:59

Nah, it’s the ‘rule of rankings’ – as soon as I finish them, a player who is low goes out and has a five point game or something. Happens all the time!

Hey, I’m still new to the prospect rankings. What do the players’ scores actually translates to? Thanks!

    • Dobber 2017-10-12 at 12:50

Nothing. Just my own number. Compare them relative to each other.

      • cheese_cake 2017-10-12 at 12:54

Damn that made me chuckle hard from surprise hahaha. Fair enough, then what is considered in making those rankings? Is it a linear scale (can we say that, according to your ranking, having Theodore is close to two times better in most fantasy leagues than having Morin)?
I’m trying to see what I can make of those rankings :)

        • Dobber 2017-10-12 at 15:00

I don’t think it can be quantified that way, I would just say this guy is better than that guy unless they are within 5.0 of each other. I use NHL certainty, wait time and upside

          • cheese_cake 2017-10-12 at 15:07

            Thank you!

Seeing Sproul as the highest ranked Detroit defense prospect is a little surprising. I would have thought Hicketts and Hronek would be the two highest based on their age and expected usage in Grand Rapids.

    • Dobber 2017-10-13 at 10:21

Hicketts, Chowlowski, Hronek and even Saarijarvi are moving up the charts quickly and Sproul is freefalling. Trend points to all four passing Sproul if he doesn’t get it together by midseason

  4. Okayposo 2017-10-14 at 10:24

    Where does Tim Heed rank?

  5. Geoffrey Yas Guthe 2017-10-14 at 13:24

Cal Foote has been off to a fast start. Definitely could argue he is better than most of the guys ranked 30-50

    • Dobber 2017-10-16 at 10:29

59th. Reminds me of Haydn Fleury. D-first. Maybe I remember his father too much

  6. seb 2017-10-14 at 15:10

Who would you say has a better upside Girard or Forsling (not including wait time)

  7. Jon hill 2017-11-08 at 18:15

You have Butcher #16 here, but #40 in top keeper defensemen. Odd, considering you have Mete #15 here and #100 in top keeper defensemen.

One list is a month old. The other list is a week old. But the two lists factor different things, too.
