Top 100 Keeper League Defensemen – March 2018

2018-03-06
Here are the top defensemen to own in your points-only keeper leagues.
As I noted yesterday in the full Top 300 list (here), this is the final list of the season in which we consider this season's help. Beginning in April we look ahead to next season and the two beyond that. As always, two players within +/- 5.0 rating points of each other should be considered equal value and at that point should be prioritized based on need and personal bias. You'll notice that players become very close in value to each other the further down the list you go as we get torn with the decision between immediate help but terribly low upside…versus a completely unproven prospect who won't help you this year and possibly not even next, if ever.

Wayyyyyyyyyy too many d-men ahead of Ellis on this list
Read the disclaimer. He’s 32nd. Also check out my Ramblings yesterday, first couple paragraphs. Thanks!
Edler? I know he is older but solid all around production. Maybe I am just missing name though can understand exclusion with his age.
In most points-only leagues if your defenseman does not get at least 40 points, he’s not going to count towards your total at all. Edler’s hit that number twice and not at all in the last six years.
Olli Maatta??? obviously not a top 30 but maybe around 60. not even in the top 100 ???
Not in a million years. Is there a reason you like him? Is it the 94 games missed the last three seasons? Is it the career high of 29 points? Or did his 17 points in the last 62 games super impress you? ;)
ok… I can see why you didn’t mentioned him in the top 100.
but I still think he could have some fantasy value. (praying for a complete season ;)) and he’s only 23. there might be more to come… he’s always playing just a few minutes of good hockey, behind Letang, Schultz and now Dumoulin… but like I said. not in the top of the list, for sure!
