DFS Tuesday – Josi is Money (April 12 2022)

Tough start in your week in your fantasy? Don't let that ruin your DFS bets. You only need to hit a few winners, then avoid the disasters.

GO FOR: Calgary vs. Seattle. Sure, Gaudreau (DraftKings $7600, Yahoo $32) will be expensive, but as your #1 center Elias Lindholm (DK $7000, Y $31) is an equal option to pick up, and drives that top line. Less costly, 1st power-play Rasmus Andersson ($4700/ $19), or Tyler Toffoli ($4700/ $17). Remember that a power-play assist is golden for a defenseman.

GO FOR: Roman Josi ($8800, $33).  Pretty much I don't care who Nashville plays, this guy has been money all year, and after being pointless in their last two games, he's not likely to be silent again this evening. A side bet with your buddies that he's multi-points and (+2) on Tuesday?? Worth it.

GO FOR (Goalie edition): Tristan Jarry had been my original pick, but was not Mike Sullivan’s. Casey DeSmith starts tonight instead ($7900, $28). Ok, ok, the Pens have been struggling since losing back-to-back vs. Colorado, but I look at the Evgeni Malkin-less Penguins as a cornered cat, so expect their best tonight.

CHEAP OPTIONS: Almost anyone outside top-six from Florida, think Lundell ($3500, $18), Marchment ($3600, $13), or especially Reinhart (not as cheap – $5400, $25 – but they're playing Anaheim…).  Or, Michael Bunting ($4800, $20) vs. Buffalo.

BASEMENT OPTIONS: Arizona plays at New Jersey. This is unlikely to be a tense defensive struggle. Almost anyone could get 3 points. Dawson Mercer ($3200, $12) or Sharangovich ($3600, $17) for NJ, Travis Boyd ($2700, $13) or Shayne Gostisbehere ($4800, $15) for AZ.  I mean, someone has to balance out the star players!!

NO, NO: STAY AWAY from: Boston/St. Louis, Edmonton/Minnesota.  Unless you bet on Roulette wheels, these are the unpredictable duo tonight. Winners? Score? More likely to major in PIM. Rangers/Carolina might fit here, too.

TAKING MY OWN ADVICE (or not): I usually bet DFS on Yahoo, but might make the transition soon. My lineup: Lindholm, Boyd, Adrian Kempe ($18), Toffoli, Lucas Raymond ($15), Josi, Mike Matheson ($15), DeSmith, and …. yeah, Karel Vejmelka ($24). Never up, never in. I'll report my results next time.

LAST and "SHOULDA" – – Frank Vatrano ($3200, $17). Way too inexpensive.

As Liam Neeson heard through the phone on Taken: "Good Luck."

Keeping Karlsson Short Shifts – The Wilkes-Jarry Penguins

Elizabeth and Lewis are back to take listeners through a host of power play changes that are giving managers the opportunity to get exposure to great players off the waiver wire, including Philly, Jersey, and Tampa talk. They also cover Jarry’s AHL demotion, Cooley’s ascension to the top-line and powerplay, and injuries to Tavares and Hintz.
