Here's the latest injury news from across the NHL! If you're looking for information about a specific player and don't see their name in this article, there probably haven't been any significant updates about their progress since our last article. Eric Comrie – Will be sidelined for multiple weeks due to a lower-body injury. His first season with the Sabres isn't off to a great start as he sports a 3.62 GAA and .887 save percentage over 11 games. In his absence, Craig Anderson and Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen are expected to share the net in Buffalo.

Kyle Okposo – Buffalo's captain has been skating on his own recently and is reportedly feeling better. He's been day-to-day with a lower-body injury for almost two weeks now.

Frederik Andersen – When asked about his injured players on November 16^th, coach Rod Brind'Amour said "nobody's close to getting back". It doesn't sound like Andersen's been on the ice recently, so I don't expect he'll be ready to return any time soon. The Hurricanes' netminder is on Injured Reserve (IR) with a lower-body injury that's described as more serious than a day-to-day issue, but not quite a week-to-week issue. Antti Raanta and Pyotr Kochetkov should continue to share the net while he's sidelined. 

Teuvo Teravainen – Last we heard, Teravainen was expected to be out "for a while" due to an upper-body injury (not a concussion). The Finnish winger has been skating on his own recently, but we'll need to see him participate in a full-contact practice before we can start talking about a return.

Max Pacioretty –  The 33-year-old winger has been skating on his own recently, but is still walking with a slight limp. On August 10^th, Pacioretty underwent surgery to repair a torn Achilles and was expected to be sidelined for six months. The fact that he's participating in some light skates now doesn't dramatically alter that timetable, so don't expect him to make his Canes' debut in 2022.

Alex Stalock – The Blackhawks' netminder continues to skate by himself but is yet to practice because he hasn't felt 100% for a consistent period. He's still going through cycles of good days and bad days. Stalock entered concussion protocol after he was bowled over during a game on November 1st. Recovering from a concussion is usually an unpredictable process that requires day-to-day monitoring, so there's no concrete timetable for his return.

Seth Jones – The 28-year-old defenseman is expected to be in the lineup against the Stars on Wednesday. A thumb injury caused him to miss Chicago's last 10 games.  

Tyler Johnson – The Blackhawks' forward had been practicing recently but felt some pain when taking contact during Friday's session. Although he skated on his own, he didn't participate in the team's next practice on Tuesday. It sounds like he'll sit out a few more games to ensure his injury fully heals. Johnson is working his way back from an ankle sprain suffered on October 25th.

Samuel Girard – Is expected to play against the Canucks on Wednesday night. Girard has been sidelined with a lower-body injury since November 5^th.

Jack Roslovic – Had been sidelined with an illness recently but is expected to play against the Canadiens on Wednesday night.

Jakub Voracek – The Blue Jackets' forward is not close to returning from an upper-body injury.

Elvis Merzlikins – On November 20^th, we learned the Blue Jackets' netminder would be sidelined for a week or two due to a hip injury.

Jake Bean – Is out indefinitely with a shoulder injury. With Columbus' blueline decimated by injuries, Marcus Bjork is seeing time on the team's top power-play unit.

Kailer Yamamoto – Has been skating on his own recently but remains day-to-day with an undisclosed injury. Yamamoto isn't with the team on its current road trip, so it's unlikely he plays against the Islanders on Wednesday or the Rangers on Saturday.

Sean Durzi – The Kings defenseman is day-to-day with a lower-body injury that isn't believed to be anything major.

Marc-Andre Fleury – Has been practicing recently, working his way back from an upper-body injury that's kept him sidelined for the past week. Although he won't be available against Winnipeg on Wednesday, he's progressing well and hasn't been ruled out of Friday's tilt with Toronto.

Jordan Greenway – Will be in the lineup against the Jets on Wednesday. He had been sidelined with an upper-body injury for the past couple weeks.

Mackenzie Blackwood – Has been skating recently, but in a limited capacity. On November 8^th, we learned that Blackwood would be sidelined for three to six weeks with an MCL sprain. We'll need to see him practice with the team before we start anticipating a return.

Ondrej Palat – Still has another six to eight weeks left in his recovery from groin surgery. He's participated in some light skates recently, but is still far from a return.

Thomas Chabot – Was a regular participant in Tuesday's practice and could be available against Vegas on Wednesday. He's been sidelined with a concussion for the past week and a half, feeling good some days but not so great other days.

Scott Laughton – The Flyers' forward will be sidelined with an upper-body injury for two weeks. He's enjoying an increased role with the team this year, skating over 19 minutes a night and seeing a 47% share of the team's total power-play time. Despite the expanded opportunity, Laughton is scoring at a 32-point pace.

Travis Konecny – Philadelphia's leading scorer will be out for 10 to 14 days as he recovers from an upper-body injury. He's had an excellent first quarter, posting 19 points over 17 appearances.

Cam Atkinson – Has been skating recently and is officially week-to-week with an upper-body injury. Atkinson hasn't played yet this season, dealing with a mysterious upper-body injury that was initially labelled a day-to-day issue.

James van Riemsdyk – Had surgery on his finger in late October and was projected to miss six weeks of action. He's still on track to return in early December.

Sean Couturier – On October 27^th, the Flyers center underwent back revision surgery, a procedure which came with a recovery timetable of three to four months. On Tuesday, we learned that the original timetable remains in place. That's somewhat encouraging as it indicates he hasn't suffered a setback over this past month.

Casey DeSmith – Missed Tuesday's practice for precautionary reasons but will be available to back up Tristan Jarry when Pittsburgh hosts the Flames on Wednesday.

James Reimer – Is dealing with a lower-body injury and didn't travel to Seattle, so he won't be available against the Kraken on Wednesday. According to coach David Quinn, this isn't a long-term issue and Reimer may only end up missing this one game.

Jamie Oleksiak – Participated in Tuesday's practice in a regular jersey, which suggests he was cleared to take contact. Although this is an encouraging step in the right direction, there's no timetable for his return from a lower-body injury.

Torey Krug – A decision on his status for Wednesday's tilt with the Sabres will be made after he skates on Wednesday. He missed the Blues' last game due to an upper-body injury.

Vladimir Tarasenko – Missed the team's last two games due to illness but practiced on Tuesday and is expected to play against Buffalo on Wednesday.

Ross Colton – The Lightning forward is day-to-day with an upper-body injury.

Anthony Cirelli – Had shoulder surgery in the summer and was expected to return in late-November/early-December. He recently shed his no-contact sweater for a regular practice jersey, signifying he could be back relatively soon.

Morgan Rielly – The Leafs' defenseman was recently placed on long-term injured reserve (LTIR) with a knee injury. As a result, he's required to miss 10 games and 24 days of action. The earliest he can come off LTIR and play is December 17^th, but he may stay out longer if the injury hasn't healed by then. There are rumblings Reilly's dealing with a Grade 1 or 2 MCL injury, but all we know for sure is he doesn't require surgery and there's no concrete timetable for his return. In his absence, it looks like Rasmus Sandin will get a shot on Toronto's top power-play unit.

Ilya Samsonov – Isn't expected to play this week, which likely rules him out of Toronto's next three games (starting Wednesday against the Devils). Although he's travelling with the team on its four-game road trip through New Jersey, Minnesota, Pittsburgh, and Detroit, that'll mainly be to practice if he's feeling well enough to do so. 

Nicolas Roy – Is dealing with a lower-body injury that isn't believed to be serious. As I write this, his status for Wednesday's game against the Senators remains up in the air.

T.J. Oshie – There's a good chance Oshie returns to the lineup on Wednesday when Washington faces Philly. He's been sidelined with a lower-body injury since October 29^th.

Dmitry Orlov – Was on the ice for Wednesday's morning skate but didn't take line rushes, so it's unlikely he faces the Flyers on Wednesday night. Orlov has been sidelined with a lower-body injury since November 7^th.

Nicklas Backstrom – Had been skating on his own for a while but recently took to the ice with his teammates. Although he wasn't taking contact, and this doesn't really indicate a return is imminent, it's an encouraging step towards Backstrom returning at some point this season. The Capitals center underwent hip resurfacing surgery in mid-June. At the time, the team simply stated that the procedure came with a lengthy recovery process.

Tom Wilson – Continues to skate on his own and it sounds like he's progressing well. In late May, Wilson had surgery to reconstruct a torn ACL in his left knee, which came with a recovery timeline of six to eight months. The short end of that timetable has just about elapsed but seeing as he hasn't skated with the team or taken any contact yet, I don't think he's close to a return.

Nikolaj Ehlers – Had hernia surgery on Wednesday morning and is expected to be sidelined for about eight to 10 weeks.
