Tuesday Game Picks: Brady Tkachuk, the New York Islanders, and Winnipeg’s Goal Scoring

We are back with another Tuesday edition of Game Picks, where we give out a Gold, Silver, and Bronze selection every Tuesday during the NHL season. There are nine games on the NHL slate tonight, giving us plenty of betting options. I've looked over every matchup and I think I've found a few winners. The three games I'll be keeping my eyes on tonight are the Los Angeles Kings @ Ottawa Senators, St. Louis Blues @ New York Islanders, and the Florida Panthers @ Winnipeg Jets. Hopefully, those three games will help us sweep the board tonight.

Below I highlight my Gold, Silver, and Bronze selections for tonight's games. Last Tuesday was a decent day that saw us go (2 – 1), bringing our season record to (9 – 9).

Gold Selection

Los Angeles Kings @ Ottawa Senators – Pick: Brady Tkachuk Over 3.5 Shots (-133)

Brady Tkachuk has been a man on a mission this season. He currently leads the Senators in goals, assists, points, shots, penalty minutes, power play goals, and game-winning goals. He can do it all. When it comes to shooting the puck, he's been doing that a ton too. In 24 games so far Tkachuk has recorded 110 shots, 4.58 shots per game. In his last 13 games he has recorded 71 shots, an average of 5.46 shots per game, almost a shot per game more than his season average. Tkachuk has recorded 4 or more shots in 12 of his last 14 games, meaning he's been nearly a lock to win this exact bet over the past month. I expect Tkachuk to continue to carry his team and rack up the shots for us tonight.

Silver Selection

St. Louis Blues @ New York Islanders – Pick: New York Islander Money Line (-161)

This pick is all about how good the Islanders have been on home ice and how bad the Blues have been in general recently. The Islanders are (9 – 4) at home this season and have won seven of their last nine home games. The Isles are only allowing 2.15 goals against per game on home ice, the third fewest in the NHL. The Blues on the other hand are allowing 3.86 goals per game on the road, the fourth most in the league. The Blues have lost four straight games, six of their last eight, and have also lost four of their last five road games. Also, the Isles are expected to start Ilya Sorokin, a Vezina contender, which only boosts my confidence even more. Look for the Isles to keep their strong play on home ice going and get the win over the Blues tonight.

Bronze Selection

Florida Panthers @ Winnipeg Jets – Pick: Over 6 (-150)

The Panthers play a run-and-gun style of hockey which leads to a lot of goals for and a lot of goals against. The Panthers have played 11 straight games where there have been six or more goals scored. The last game they played that had less than six goals was nearly a month ago on November 9 versus the Carolina Hurricanes. Also, five of the last seven games for the Jets have had six or more goals. The Panthers and Jets played each other twice last season, one game had seven goals and the other had eight, hopefully, history can repeat itself tonight.
