NHL Thursday Player Props: McDavid, Pastrnak, and Point To Finish Strong

It is Thursday once again, so let's find some winning NHL props. It's the last Thursday of the NHL regular season and there are 15 games on the schedule, which gives us plenty of options to find some winners. I've taken my time to carefully look over every matchup tonight, and I think I've found a few props that can win us some money. The research is done, the picks are in, and now it's time to watch some hockey!

Below, I highlight three player props that stood out to me for tonight's games. My record this season stands at (34 – 20) after going (3 – 0) last Thursday, hopefully, we can sweep the board again tonight!

Connor McDavid – Over 3.5 Shots (-143)

This pick is pretty simple, Connor McDavid has dominated the San Jose Sharks this season and I think that will continue tonight in Edmonton. In McDavid's three games versus the Sharks this season he has recorded a total of 18 shots, never having less than five in a single game. This season the Sharks have been allowing the fifth-most shots against to opposing centers, but over their last 10 games they have been allowing the most shots to opposing centers. Also, the Sharks have been allowing an average of 38.0 shots against per game over their last five, the second most in the NHL over that span. With tonight being the Oilers' last regular season game, I expect McDavid to put on a show for the home fans one last time before the playoffs.

David Pastrnak – Over 4.5 Shots (-130)

The reasoning behind this pick is similar to the McDavid one: David Pastrnak has dominated the Montreal Canadiens this season and that should continue tonight. In his two games versus Montreal Pastrnak has recorded 12 shots, having five or more in each game. Over their past five games, the Canadiens are allowing 35.60 shots against per game, the sixth most during that stretch. The Canadiens have also allowed the second most shots against to opposing right wingers in the NHL over the past 10 games, which bodes well for Pastrnak.  Also, Pastrnak has been winning this exact bet at an insane rate lately, having recorded at least five shots in four straight games and 14 of his last 15. Look for Pastrnak to continue his strong play tonight as the Bruins start getting ramped up for the playoffs.

Brayden Point – Anytime Goal (+107)

Brayden Point is one goal away from hitting 50 for the first time in his career and you can be sure that his Tampa Bay Lightning teammates will set him up every chance they get. Point has scored 30 goals in his 40 home games this season, his fantastic production on home ice should benefit him tonight as the Lighting host the Detroit Red Wings. Speaking of the Red Wings, Point has played them three times this season and scored a goal in each game, hopefully, that trend will continue tonight. Also, the Red Wings are starting Ville Husso in net tonight, who has allowed at least five goals in four of his last five complete games. With how much Point's teammates will feed him the puck, his strong play versus the Red Wings this season, and Husso struggling to make saves, I expect Point to get every opportunity to pot his 50th.
