DFS Thursday: Panthers Look To Claw Back In Series With Help From Reinhart And Barkov

I'm going to start off today having total agreement with Steve Dotzel's Saturday article – that for these single-game fantasy picks, you first need to imagine a final score and then run with that scenario. But the issue for that plan tonight is that I envision a 4–3 overtime game that's a coin flip as to which squad pulls it out. That makes for a DFS free-for-all. So, if you feel more confident that Florida responds, or that Vegas' forechecking is just too much for the Panthers to overcome, then you're on your own.

Captain (at 150%): Sam Reinhart ($10,800). Hey, somebody has to score the overtime winner, and Vegas hasn't taken enough penalties for me to go with Matthew Tkachuk on a power play.  At even strength, Reinhart from Aleksander Barkov ($8600) as the winner, pulling the series to 2-1. I do think we'll see the resurgence of Sergei Bobrovsky ($10,600), although those who might pick Adin Hill have the argument that Florida may hit 40 shots on goal, just in regulation.

Loyal opposition's entries – Jonathan Marchessault ($9200), playing against his old team and potentially heading for a Conn Smythe Trophy – and then two drivers of the balanced Knights' attack in Chandler Stephenson ($6200) and Nicholas Roy ($4400). If Vegas pulls out their third straight victory tonight, these are good bets to be on the scoresheet.

The Stanley Cup is not an easy trophy to win. Yes, Vegas had their way for the first two games, but I'm betting that tonight will be a dogfight from the first puck drop. I've cleared my calendar, stocked my refrigerator, and am ready for the fun!

Keeping Karlsson Short Shifts – The Wilkes-Jarry Penguins

Elizabeth and Lewis are back to take listeners through a host of power play changes that are giving managers the opportunity to get exposure to great players off the waiver wire, including Philly, Jersey, and Tampa talk. They also cover Jarry’s AHL demotion, Cooley’s ascension to the top-line and powerplay, and injuries to Tavares and Hintz. The duo wrap up with some hot and cold streak deep dives, including discussion of the Red Wings crazy powerplay success in the last ten games, whether Erik Gustafsson is rosterable or an overperforming illusion, Fantilli’s continued success, Merilainen as Hamburglar 2.0, and whether Schenn’s success and Neighbours’ lack thereof are likely to continue.
