It's been a busy month for the Dobber Sports Network, with (now) two smartphone apps, added tools and reports in Frozen Tools, the release of the Fantasy Guide, free Box Pools, etc.

For the past eight years, we have been working on getting our free fantasy hockey game – Dobbernomics – in perfect shape for ease of play and maximum fun. A major step was made in that direction Tuesday, as the Dobbernomics app is now released for iPhone and Android.

The app offers light and dark options, easy navigation, player search and roster administration.

How To Play Dobbernomics (a free game)

The concept was inspired over 20 years ago by Small World, and later RotoHog.

Manage a team of 12 players (7F, 3D, 2G) under a $50M cap. Your team accumulates fantasy points based on real life performance of the players on your roster. But the value (or price) of a player is dynamic. It will change daily based on total player adds worldwide (bought) and dropped (sold) within all Dobbernomics leagues.

Using the buy low/sell high strategy, you can increase the total value of your team, therefore giving the chance to acquire better players and hence increase your potential fantasy points later in the season. Player values could potentially change (up or down) daily.

Team managers have unlimited transactions to put together their roster, as players do not begin accumulating value until the season begins. As soon as the season begins, teams will have five (5) transactions to add and drop players. Five (5) transactions will be given each week on Thursday morning (EST). You are free to use those transactions, or you can let them build throughout the season so that potentially you 'could' have dozens of transactions available to you in March for the stretch run. Your strategy is your own!
