It’s Here! Starting Goalie Notifications – In a Free App

2023-10-08

The Goalie Post app is live on both iPhone and Android – and it features some fantastic new features for this year as well!

You have known and loved Goalie Post, the creator of the patented "Starting Goalie Grid", for 18 years. Even before it came under the DobberHockey blanket a dozen years ago. Reliably providing starting goalie information for so long that even Sportsnet uses it on their official website. Last year, we released the new website version, building it for the purpose of this very app.

And now, the app is finally ready. Just in time for the 2023-24 regular season!

Download it on iOS here.

What we've always had:

  • Updated starting goalies
  • Weekly Schedules that color-code B2B games, etc.
  • Goalies that link to a profile page that has their stats.
  • Goalie Ramblings
  • Top 100 Keeper League Goalie Rankings
  • Free email notifications. Simply sign up and get emailed on any changes to the starting goalies that were posted to start the day. You can hand pick any teams for which you want to be notified.

What's NEW:

  • A win probability bar. This is a bar that goes to the left or right towards the goalie that is favored to win according to my calculations. The further in one direction it goes, the more it favors that goalie. It factors in recent play of both the goalie and his team, the long-term play, the recent and long-term play of their opponents, home versus road performance, and back-to-back status.
  • A projected saves bar. This factors in similar details noted above, but with a focus on shots on goal and predicted saves.
  • Expanded stats. I hand-picked more stats, including QS and GSAA among others, that are now in the goalie profile pages.
  • Weekly schedules where you can manually choose the start day (i.e. Sunday instead of Monday, etc.)

Here’s a look at the win probability bar and the projected saves bar, in both our ‘dark’ and ‘light’ screens. Hovering over the bars gives you the exact number.
