Geek of The Week: The Upcoming Fantasy Playoff Week – Hits, Shots, and Blocks

Hello and welcome back to Geek of the Week! The fantasy playoffs are upon us for most. This coming fantasy week is a tricky one, with most teams playing three games, all on heavy nights. I'll be presenting how to attack this week and highlighting some multicategory players that could be useful.
This upcoming fantasy week, there are only two teams (the Ducks and the Golden Knights) playing four games, 26 teams playing three games, and four teams (the Devils, the Lightning, the Wild, and the Islanders) playing two games. Of the 26 teams with three games, 21 of them play on zero off-nights. This means that on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday of next week, you will likely have some start-sit decisions. It will be harder this week to maximize games played, but I will present some teams to target that can help us gain the edge. I will also highlight some players to stream to help in Hits, Shots, and Blocks.
The stats provided do not include this Sunday's games.
Vegas Golden Knights
The Golden Knights play on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. If you don't have room on your roster on the heavy nights, a Vegas player can be a great Monday-Tuesday streamer.
Keegan Kolesar – 3% Rostered
Kolesar has provided steady hits all season, averaging 3.54 per game. This number has increased to 4.5 hits per game over the past two weeks. He's also chipped in on the offensive side of late, averaging 0.5 points per game over the same span. Kolesar could give you a great start to the hits category, picking up 6-10 hits before Wednesday. He may also get a point as a bonus. You can then decide to cut ties and grab another off-night streamer.
Brayden McNabb – 33% Rostered
McNabb has provided great category coverage this season, averaging 2.61 blocks, 1.74 hits, and 1 shot on the season. Over the past two weeks, he has picked up the hits, averaging 2.83 per game. Like Kolesar, he has also picked up some points lately, averaging .5 per game with 1.5 shots per game. If you need some help in blocks and hits, McNabb should be your target as a Monday-Tuesday streamer.
Buffalo Sabres
The Sabres don't play until Wednesday, but the they can provide some valuable streamers and they play on two off-nights where you'll have room on your roster, Wednesday and Friday. A Sabre will make a great mid-week streamer if you plan to stream a Golden Knight for Monday-Tuesday. Hardcore managers may be setting some 3 am alarms for this stream.
Jordan Greenway – 2% Rostered
Greenway has been getting great deployment all season. He was trusted with over 22 minutes of ice time against Edmonton on Thursday. He finds himself still in the top 6, and even on PP1. This gives him great offensive upside beside offensive threats like Tage Thompson, Dylan Cozens, and Rasmus Dahlin. He is a rare forward who blocks plenty, averaging 1 BLK per game this season. He gets plenty of hits as well, good for 2.83 per game over the past two weeks. Greenway can make a great multicategory streamer from Wednesday to Friday/Saturday.
Vancouver Canucks
The Canucks and Ducks are the only teams that play on Sunday. One last stream here can potentially make or break your fantasy matchup.
Nikita Zadorov – 7% Rostered
Zadorov has had some bursts of offense lately with his new team. He is averaging 0.8 points per game over the past two weeks. He also provides great category coverage with 3 hits, and almost 2 SOG and 2 BLK per game over the same span.
Conor Garland – 9% Rostered
Garland can provide a more offensive stream for your team. He's been red hot, averaging a point per game over the past two weeks skating alongside Elias Pettersson at even strength. He's seen a few looks on the power play as well. Over the past two weeks, Garland is averaging 3 shots per game. This is fourth highest among players rostered at 10% or lower.
Good luck to everyone! Stream to win those matchups.
Hope you enjoyed! See you next week.
