Here are the top 50 prospect defensemen to own in your points-only dynasty leagues – July edition!
But first, just under one week (!) from now, the 19th annual Fantasy Hockey Guide will be released. That’s right, I’ve earned your trust for 19 years. You can pre-order your digital copy here, or for another $5 you can get the Fantasy Prospects Report along with it (Value $14.99) here.
As always, prospects within +/-5.0 rating points of each other should be considered equal value, and at that point become a matter of team needs (immediate help vs wait time, rebuilding vs. going for it, etc.) or personal preference.

I love your rankings but I don’t understand your love for #15 Hunter Brzustewicz. You have him rated higher than players who have played in the NHL. What exactly do you see in him that you put him so high?
Also, you don’t rate Luca Cagnoni in your top 50. Their numbers in the CHL were practically identical.
Nick Richard rates Brzustewicz at 7.5 and 8.5. At superstar potential.
Hadi Kalakeche rates Cagnoni at 8.5 and 7.5. Above superstar potential.
It seems that there is some sort of disconnect between you and your writers.
Hi, enjoying the slow delve into the guide!
Question: one of your writers, Peter Harling, says this of Zayne Parekh “Parekh is the consensus first pick (as a defence prospect)”
Would you agree that Parekh has the greatest upside of the names on the above list?
Thanks,
Andrew
p.s. Darren if you’re reading this, it’s a dream, go back to sleep. Stay away from my picks!
