Looking for One More Fantasy League to Join? Here’s a Free One – With Prizes!

Dobber

2024-10-06

We have finally removed the ‘Beta’ tag from the Dobbernomics game. It’s ready to go! You are free to join the world league, or create your own league and invite your friends (and maybe put in a friendly side wager with them!).

The concept was inspired over 20 years ago by Small World, and later RotoHog.

Note: It’s not too late to play! Only two games (out of 1312) have been played (and 23 of the Dobbernomics teams that had players in those games actually lost points, so you’d already be starting ahead of them). NOTE: Rosters are now unlocked.

Manage a team of 12 players (7F, 3D, 2G) under a $50M cap. Your team accumulates fantasy points based on real life performance of the players on your roster. But the value (or price) of a player is dynamic. It will change daily based on total player adds worldwide (bought) and dropped (sold) within all Dobbernomics leagues.

Using the buy low/sell high strategy, you can increase the total value of your team, therefore giving the chance to acquire better players and hence increase your potential fantasy points later in the season. Player values could potentially change (up or down) daily. Team managers have 20 transactions to put together their roster – 12 to fill in your team, and eight most to make changes when needed. TIP: pick up your two goalies first.

Every Monday and every Thursday, your team will receive three (3) transactions. Furthermore, if you login to Dobbernomics for seven consecutive days, you receive a bonus transaction! So you could have up to seven new transactions per week to ‘play the market’. You are free to use those transactions, or let them accumulate for some fun late-season streaming. Your strategy is your own!

Why are transactions (including building team) frozen for the next couple days?

Transactions should be open/unlocked. Let me know if you have an issue. They had been locked while a glitch was fixed. It took the programmer several hours to fix the glitch and re-adjust several teams that were impacted.
