Injury Ward: Dahlin, Eriksson Ek, Seguin, Bobrovsky, Colton & More

Good morning, good afternoon, and good evening. Welcome to the Injury Ward. My name is Logan Clarkson and every Wednesday I will be chauffeuring you through injury news and updates from around the NHL. I'll do my best to offer useful analysis and opinion as it relates to fantasy throughout. As always I’d like to thank every single one of you for reading. Now, on to the bad (and some good) news.

Joel Eriksson Ek / MIN – Eriksson Ek left the game early on Tuesday night and did not return. Word came today that he will be week-to-week with a lower body injury. This comes as he was named to Team Sweden's roster in the upcoming 4 Nations Face-Off.

Rasmus Dahlin / BUF – Dahlin left last night’s game against Montreal with back spasms. The injury is related to one that kept him out in training camp, so what that tells us is maybe it has been bothering him all year. It's a bittersweet thing for Dahlin to miss time right now if he's going to come back fully rested and ready to go. Thing is, Rasmus is playing for Sweden in the aforementioned 4 Nations Face-Off so he's going to be expected to play a lot of hockey in the upcoming months if he can get back on the ice.

Nikolaj Ehlers / WPG – Ehlers has been out for a week from a lower body injury. He was producing above his usual pace, with 25 points in 24 games played while only averaging 15:33 a night of ice time on the second line. He has however, finally been playing on the top power play for Winnipeg consistently this season.

Hampus Lindholm / BOS – Lindholm has been out for three weeks, and has seen a new coach come into the fold in Boston. Head coach Joe Sacco was asked about Lindholm's recovery and he responded that Lindholm is "Not close". Lindholm was left off of Sweden's roster in favor of Jonas Brodin to the bluster of Boston fans on twitter.

Ross Colton / COL – Colton took part in morning skate today in a non contact jersey. Promising news for people who benefitted from his blistering play with half of the Avalanche forward core out. It's still up in the air how PP1 and the top two lines there are going to look with Nichushkin, Lehkonen, Colton and Mittlestadt all fighting for two spots. Last game had Nichushkin, and Lehkonen as the lucky suitors.

Yegor Chinakhov / CBJ – Chinakhov has been designated as day-to-day by his head coach and he has not travelled with the team to begin their five game road trip but will join them if he is medically cleared.

Tyler Seguin / DAL – Seguin is out four-to-six months following surgery today on his left side LFI (femoral acetabular impingement) and left side hip labrum. I don't speak Chinese well, but that sounds like another extremely difficult rehab for Seguin. This one stings as he had joined Matt Duchene in giving the middle finger to wrinkles. It seemed like nothing was going to stop these two in their geriatric quest for third line supremacy, and it seemed even more like they were the only ones scoring in Dallas for the majority of the season. In recent production for the line of Duchene, Seguin and Marchment they had outscored Robertson, Johnston, and Hintz eleven goals to five. Did not see that coming before the season started.

Max Domi / TOR – Domi will not be in the lineup tonight but he will play soon.

Max Pacioretty / TOR – Same fate for Patches as Domi. Both will be returning soon but not tonight.

Cam Talbot / DET – Talbot will be out until at least the end of this Detroit road trip which ends tomorrow.

Alex Lyon / DET – Lyon was slapped with a "likely out longer" than Cam Talbot.

Samuel Ersson / PHI – Ersson has practiced for two days in a row now as a full participant. Flyer's play Thursday against Florida so it may be a rough return for the fella if he's thrust back into it quickly.

Jake Guentzel / TBL – Left practice early on Tuesday and has fully returned for today's practice. Hopefully not something that lingers.

Viktor Arvidsson / EDM – Arvidsson has been a certified band-aid-boy for a while and it’s proving true in Edmonton again. That said, if I was his size I wouldn’t leave the house for fear of injury. He was designated as day to day weeks ago and he is still out. No idea how long the can gets kicked down the road here with his injury but I don’t think he will return to his career numbers when returning regardless.

Alex Ovechkin / WSH – Ovechkin was already seen skating on his own yesterday and Spencer Carbery confirmed he has skated again this morning. Very positive news since it's only been roughly a week and a half since his four-to-six week absence due to a broken left fibula was announced. I cannot wait for this guy to get back to full speed.

Sergei Bobrovsky / FLA – Bobrovsky has missed a few games due to the birth of his second child. Congratulations to Sergei and his wife Olga.

Anthony Duclair / NYI – Duclair has been reported to be skating on his own as of Nov. 29th. As a Sorokin owner, I am patiently waiting for this guy to come back and contribute along with Mathew Barzal. Dark days offensively for the Islanders recently, if they can get any darker than the last decade.

Mathew Barzal / NYI – Barzal has been shrouded in a bit of mystery. He has an upper body injury apparently but he hasn't been skating at all so it doesn’t line up great. Hopefully some news of a return soon.

Filip Hronek / VAN – Hronek has undergone a procedure on his lower body and will miss the next eight weeks. He luckily didn't require surgery on his unrelated upper body injury so I guess some good mixed in with the bad here.

Thanks again for reading, and please give me a follow you can find me here on Twitter/X [@LOGoalz](https://twitter.com/LOGoalz) for any questions, concerns, or abuse you may want to shower me with. Have a great week people.
