The Winnipeg Jets have acquired a pair of bangers in separate deals. The Jets have acquired Luke Schenn from Pittsburgh in exchange for a 2026 second-round pick and a 2027 fourth-round pick, and they have also acquired Brandon Tanev from Seattle for a second-round pick in 2027.
The Jets receive:
Schenn, who is currently third in the league with 228 hits. He is mainly a one-trick pony in fantasy leagues, as he has just five points in 61 games. Schenn can help fantasy rosters somewhat with penalty minutes and blocked shots, although his contributions in those categories are not outstanding.

Tanev, whose hit totals have trailed off somewhat in recent seasons. He offers a bit more scoring that Schenn, but his real-life value to teams seems to exceed his fantasy value. Tanev should also help the Jets with their penalty kill.

Fantasy impact:
The Jets were mainly focused on adding depth at the deadline, and these two players fit the bill. The 35-year-old Schenn won't crack the top 4 unless there is an injury, while the 33-year-old Tanev doesn't offer enough scoring to be a top 6 option. It's possible that both players see their icetime decrease a little bit and could even be healthy scratches at times, although their icetime this season wasn't that high to begin with. Schenn and Tanev seem more like additions to load up for the playoffs, when teams need more sandpaper on their roster than during the regular season.
