In his first game against the Canucks, J.T. Miller scored the empty-net goal to seal a 5-3 win for the Rangers. Since the trade, Miller has 20 points in 21 games with the Rangers while his icetime has increased a little bit. Miller also registered an assist, three shots, six hits, and two blocked shots in a game that he most likely had circled on his calendar. He was often matched up against Elias Pettersson and was not shy about playing physical against Petey or any of his former teammates.
Pettersson and Nils Hoglander both left the game with undisclosed injuries. Bad timing for the Canucks, as Pettersson had found his game recently with nine points in his previous six games entering Saturday's game.
The Canucks really deserved a better fate in this one, not only with the Pettersson situation but how they controlled the play. The Canucks outshot the Rangers 40-12, which is nothing new for the Rangers. They had also been outshot two games ago 35-13 at home against Calgary. Despite some of their star power, the Rangers look like a team that can easily be checked off the puck. Igor Shesterkin kept the Rangers in the game, making 37 saves.
Quinn Hughes finished the game with nine shots on goal, while Jake DeBrusk took eight shots. Hughes was on the ice for nearly half the game, logging 28:25.
On the other hand, Kevin Lankinen had a really bad start in allowing four goals on those 12 shots. Lankinen has already far surpassed his previous career high in games played by appearing in 46 games with the Canucks. He may be starting to wear down, although he is a more trusted option than Arturs Silovs at the moment.
With his 384th hit of the season, Kiefer Sherwood is the new single-season hits record holder. The record had been set by Sherwood's former Nashville teammate Jeremy Lauzon last season. Sherwood has a non-stop motor – a player who can be difficult to play against but you'd love to have on your team. His previous career high was 234 hits, set last season, so this season he has really moved into fantasy relevance.
Sherwood's record-breaking hit was his first of the game, and he finished with 12 hits. With nearly 400 hits on the season, Sherwood is averaging nearly six hits per game. Will Cuylle, who has the league's second-highest hit total (264), averages 3.71 hits per game. That's how dominant Sherwood has been in the hits category this season.

Thomas Harley scored two goals, including the game-winner just nine seconds into overtime against Philadelphia. Harley also fired six shots on goal while logging 25 minutes, continuing his dominant play while Miro Heiskanen is out of the lineup. Since Heiskanen's injury, Harley has 21 points in just 19 games. That includes nine power-play points. Harley might remain on the Stars' top power play even when Heiskanen returns, which may not happen during the regular season.
Travis Konecny scored his first goal in 14 games and just his second goal since January 21. He also entered Saturday's game with just two assists in his last 10 games. That's a noticeable dropoff for Konecny, who started the season with 27 points in his first 23 games.
Tyson Foerster had an assist for the Flyers, but he also had an outstanding multicategory day with six shots, five hits, and two blocked shots.

Surprise last-minute scratches are as annoying as anything in fantasy hockey. Saturday's victim was Mackenzie Weegar, who missed Saturday's game with a lower-body injury. This is an unfortunate break for teams in multicategory leagues, as Weeger is currently third in the NHL in combined shots/hits/blocks with 497, behind only Sherwood and Brady Tkachuk.
Despite Weegar's absence, Calgary was able to pull through with a 4-3 overtime win over the Islanders. Jonathan Huberdeau remains hot with a goal and two assists, giving him nine points over his last six games. With two goals and goals in three consecutive games, Matt Coronato has reached the 20-goal mark in his first full season. Rasmus Andersson pitched in three assists.
It's been a down season for Noah Dobson, but he is enjoying his most productive stretch of the season at the right time for teams in the fantasy playoffs. Dobson assisted twice on Saturday, giving him three consecutive multipoint games and seven points over his last four games. After reaching 70 points last season, Dobson has been producing at a 48-point full-season pace and will likely finish below that due to games already missed.

The Kings' 7-2 win over Carolina didn't result in any monster games, as no Kings player had more than two points. However, every Kings forward registered at least one point, so there was something for everyone.
Pyotr Kochetkov was in net for all seven goals, so hopefully you weren't starting him. You probably didn't hesitate to start Kochetkov either, as he entered this game with four wins and four quality starts over his last five games. Such is the fantasy playoffs, which can be cruel.
To add injury to insult for the Canes, Seth Jarvis left the game with an undisclosed injury. After the game, Rod Brind'Amour said that Jarvis "looked alright" and that he though the Canes "avoided the worst." The Canes play again today (Sunday) in Anaheim, so Jarvis should be considered questionable for that game.

When you’re good, you’re lucky; and when you’re lucky, you’re good… something like that for the Blues right now.
Facing his hometown (and former team) Blues, Patrick Maroon announced he will be retiring at the end of the season.

Alex Ovechkin update time. Even though the Capitals scored six on Vitek Vanecek and the Panthers (all in the first half of the game), the Great 8 did not score one of them. Ovechkin did finish with two assists and five shots if you're relying on him for more than goals. Ovie now has 10 points over his last seven games.
Connor McMichael and Tom Wilson each finished with a goal and an assist. Wilson has been red hot recently with 14 points over his last 10 games. He also finished the game with six hits and two blocked shots.
The Panthers play again today (Sunday) against Pittsburgh. However, they play only twice next week and not until Friday, so Monday would be the day to cut any fringe Florida players from your roster.

In Utah's 6-4 win over Tampa Bay, Logan Cooley and Nick Schmaltz each finished with three points. Both have been hot recently: Cooley with four goals and two assists over his last four games; Schmaltz with seven points over his last five games. Both are rostered in just under 50 percent of Yahoo leagues, so they are both solid adds/starts with Utah one of 12 teams to play four games next week.
In a losing cause for the Bolts, Jake Guentzel scored a goal and added two assists, while Brayden Point scored two goals. Over his last four games, Guentzel has averaged five shots per game. Point's goals were his first in nine games.

Colorado/Montreal might have been the game of the day. The Avalanche built up 3-0 and 4-1 leads before the Habs tied the game at 4 in the third period. Colorado eventually won the game in a shootout.
With a goal and an assist, Brock Nelson has two consecutive multipoint games after registering just two points in his first six games with the Avalanche.
Juraj Slafkovsky led the Canadiens with two goals. I had been considering dropping Slafkovsky to load up on Sunday, but this performance is making me have second thoughts. In addition, the Habs play four games next week, so I might have to consider other options. Slafkovsky has taken a minimum of three shots in five of his last six games, so he is at least trying to make things happen. Going back even further, Slafkovsky has eight goals and 13 points and 46 hits in his last 13 games. He is a definite asset in bangers leagues.

Filip Forsberg filled the statsheet in multicategory leagues against the Leafs: two goals, one assist, plus-3, and 10 shots on goal. Forsberg is the lone Predator on the Frozen Tools Hot List with five points over his last three games. In a forgettable season for Nashville, Forsberg leads the team in scoring (64 points) by a sizeable margin.
Playing on Forsberg's line, Luke Evangelista scored a goal and added two assists. Prior to Saturday, Evangelista had not recorded a point since March 6. Should he stay on the Forsberg line (and what has Nashville got to lose by leaving him there), Evangelista may be in line for a few more points.

Tomas Hertl's hat trick turned out to be the difference in the Golden Knights' 6-3 win over Detroit. Hertl's first season with Vegas has turned out well, as he has reached 30 goals for the third time in his 12-season career. Two of Hertl's goals were on the power play, giving him 14 PPG this season. Only Leon Draisaitl and Jake Guentzel have more power-play goals than Hertl.
Jack Eichel finished with four points (1 G, 3 A), giving him 16 points in his last 11 games. Eichel has now reached a career high of 86 points. Staying healthy has been an issue for Eichel throughout his career, as he has played at least 70 games just once in his career. Without the injuries, Eichel has shown the potential for more. If he can remain injury-free over the last few weeks of the regular season, Eichel is on pace to finish with his first 100-point season.
In a losing cause, Patrick Kane scored a power-play goal while adding two assists. Kane is the only Red Wing on the Frozen Tools Hot List with nine points over his last five games.

With no Connor McDavid or Leon Draisaitl for the Oilers, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins stepped up with a hat trick and five shots in 23:16 of icetime in a 5-4 win. After an outlier 104-point season, Nugent-Hopkins has seen his production decline for the second consecutive season. However, he has turned up the production recently with nine points in his last four games – three 3-point efforts in his last four games. As long as the two top Oiler scorers are out of the lineup, Nugent-Hopkins' production could really take off.
The injuries have also resulted in Jeff Skinner being fantasy-relevant again. Skinner scored a goal, giving him three goals in his last two games. He is also on the Oilers' top power play, something that wasn't possible until now. Averaging just 12 minutes and change for the Oilers this season, Skinner's icetime has jumped to the 17-18-minute mark these past two games. It seems like McDavid and Draisaitl could be out for at least another game or two, so Skinner is worth a pickup next week.
Stuart Skinner was back between the pipes on Saturday after being pulled by a concussion spotter late on Thursday. Skinner picked up a win while allowing four goals on 31 shots.
