DFS Tuesday: Toronto In Great Position; Minnesota At Home; Werenski Leading The Way, and More

Good day to all my DFS peps out there! What to do, what to do, what to do when it comes to this slate. I think though, we may have a couple good plays on the board that we can build a lineup from.

Slate Preview

Toronto Maple Leafs

The Leafs need to keep this top spot in the Atlantic to avoid going down to the state of Florida for a series. I know the first thing Sportsnet is going to show on a graphic is the head-to-head matchup between Toronto and Ottawa (favors the Sens) if that's their draw, but I still like this Leafs team to try and remain at the top of the division. I'm 50/50 how much Toronto I'm going to have in my lineup but right now I'm, thinking getting in an expensive two-man of Auston Matthews ($9,500) and William Nylander ($7,600). I can find cheap stacks all over this board today, so going with an expensive pair is fine for me tonight. I haven't played nearly as much Toronto as I have in prior seasons but the spot if perfect for them going into Buffalo which will have a fair number of Leafs fans in attendance. Seriously, these games are out of control. If you want to add another cheap Toronto skater onto your stack as well that's fine, but in my single-entry a high-dollar two-man may be the way I build.

Philadelphia Flyers

Story time all, gather round. This morning, I was in an Uber on the way to an appointment and I was chatting with the driver about NBA bets he was making tonight. Now, just how we got on this topic of conversation I have no idea, but he turned to me before I got out and said, "Tonight it's the play you don't wanna make that's the bread." I was spoken to by a prophet, it's now up to us to translate his meaning, and to me that means playing the Flyers. If the Pittsburgh Penguins or New York Rangers were on this slate, I'd say it would be them, but Philly checks every box for us tonight. Yes, the Flyers may not be appointment television, but going up against this Jackets club at home is a good matchup for them and one that I could get interested in. The prices are such to where you won't be able to fit an expensive stack with them, but the second line of Travis Kocney ($6,800), Matvei Michkov ($6,500) and Sean Couturier ($5,600), is fully correlated and Columbus is averaging over three goals against per game this past month. Rarely do I play the Flyers but it's the end of the season and they will be matched up against the club that I think I rostered the most this season in Columbus. DFS suggestions from myself inspired by an Uber driver that was driving illegally on the shoulder of the road on the Kennedy Expressway. I promise you won't find this type of hard-hitting NHL content anywhere else.

Minnesota Wild

I want to believe in this Wild club as we get closer to playoffs like I did in January and tonight might just be a spot to get my confidence back up. While the Ducks haven't been the doormat that they've been in recent seasons, lately it's been a struggle for them and one that we can take advantage of tonight. Anaheim has taken the most penalties in the past month, combining that with a struggling penalty kill, plus Lukas Dostal who has been struggling in his own right the past month (second worst GSAA), it's just lining up to be a Minnesota night for me. I may go about this by stacking the top line that has full correlation but would not leave anyone off the stack if I did so. You could full-on power-play stack if you want to but if building around the top line is what fits best in your build, then that's just fine. In my single-entry, this may be the spot I go to if I can't make anything fit the way I like with Toronto, to me this could be 1B tonight if an expensive Toronto stack is 1A.

Defensemen

Zach Werenski is $7,500 and scoring again so if you want to get up to him that's fine, but for me defense may not be where I'm able to allocate funds to tonight. Victor Hedman at $6,100 stands out to me, especially if you're making a Tampa Bay stack, which could be an interesting build. I like Noah Dobson priced at $5,600, I feel comfortable playing him at that price as I accidentally press him into my lineup. Oh well, guess it was meant to be? Drew Doughty is intriguing to me at $5,100, and I almost think that you could get away with him as a one-off tonight. Philip Broberg in the mid $4K's is a nice play tonight, and I really like Sean Durzi just below him at $4,300.

Goalies

I'm probably going to try and fit in Andrei Vasilevskiy at $7,900 as my netminder tonight, the only play that is above that price that I would consider getting up to would maybe be Wild goaltender – pick'ins are slim tonight, folks. I could take a stab at Dustin Wolf at $7,600 or Ilya Sorokin at $7,500 but don't have much interest going to a lower dollar goaltender. If you need to save salary and end up with Anaheim or Chicago in net I would try and go back to your build and cut salary in different spots so that you're able to price up to a different goaltender tonight.

Good luck tonight everybody!
