If you haven't tried this fun game yet, now is the time. If you tried it a few years ago and found that there were too many bugs – now is the time to dive back in.

In a nutshell: the objective is to fill your lineup with players under a salary cap that best optimizes your point totals. But at the same time, the player values increase or decrease based on their total ownership across the game. So while you start with a $50M budget, you could be up to $55M by November! Conversely, you could be down to $45M if you added a bunch of players who decline in value. It's fantasy hockey! It's the stock market! It's both! But players are the stocks.

Create a league and invite your friends. Compete to win your league in both points and team value – and then compare your team to the world rankings. Obviously, if you build team value early, you'll have more money to spend later in the season on better players. Imagine your team cap at $80M by February – think of the edge you'll have gained!

Or, if your friends aren't interested (who needs them anyway), just put in a team on your own. You're automatically in the world league regardless!

Over the last couple of years, we have made adjustments and closed some loopholes that were being abused. Everyone wants to find that edge. We've also added new features, such as player filters to better find your guy. Key changes for this year:

• You now get one transaction per day. Last year this was three on Monday and three on Thursday. Now it's one per day (seven per week).
• The login bonus transaction is now given for five consecutive days of logging in. This was seven days last year.

That works out to about 5.5 more transactions each month. More action means more "stock value" volatility!
