Happy Tuesday y'all! Welcome back to Lining Up, our weekly series on lineup trends and what to look forward to in the coming week. I have to start with a shout out to Dobber and the rest of the managing crew for having me back for another year.

We have made it to September. Training camp starts and with the new 84-game schedule, the regular season begins at the end of the month! We saw a pretty interesting and fun offseason, with some big contracts being signed and new head coaches around the league. What was your favorite moment?

With training camps just a few weeks away, we'll dive into the additions and subtractions of each team, division by division, until the regular season starts. First up is the Atlantic.

Boston Bruins: After a first-round exit at the hands of the Buffalo Sabres, the Bruins will welcome a couple of skilled forwards to their lineup in 2026-27: JJ Peterka and James Hagens. Peterka oozes talent and has the skill to play with David Pastrnak. Hagens does as well, so the B's have added some much-needed depth, but both have the pedigree to play with Pasta. If Peterka gets that chance to play on the top line, he is a better fantasy player than real life NHLer, so there is point-per-game potential there.

Buffalo Sabres: The Sabres had to pay a bunch of players during the offseason so that meant change. The team dealt Alex Tuch and Bowen Byram but infused their lineup with youth. Management traded for Olen Zellweger, who has the potential to be that PPQB2, and are looking for jumps from Noah Ostlund and World Championship hero Konsta Helenius. Tuch was one of Tage Thompson's consistent linemates so there is one big spot to fill in this lineup. Josh Doan has the same frame and plays the same type of game that Tuch does, but they could also look to infuse some youth with him.

Detroit Red Wings: After Dylan Larkin publicly requested a trade, Detroit ownership decided to let go of GM Steve Yzerman in hopes of repairing that relationship. Patrick Kane did leave via free agency, and the team did not replace his skill, so guys like Lucas Raymond and Alex DeBrincat (who is in the final year of his contract) will be called upon for more opportunities. No new faces here so I'm going in on DeBrincat if the price is right.

Florida Panthers: Not only did the Panthers trade for Brady Tkachuk, but they will have Aleksander Barkov back this season. This team obviously has tremendous depth if they stay healthy, so grabbing Barkov at his current ADP of 54 would be a complete steal. Brady Tkachuk doesn't have to be one of the main guys offensively for the Panthers to succeed so while he moved teams, I would actually expect his point total to dip. The peripherals (PIMs, SOGs, Hits) will still be there.

Montreal Canadiens: The Habs continue to look better with each passing day as these big contracts keep getting signed and management in Montreal locked up all their young studs early. The team as a whole stayed pretty much the same, so we are all in on Nick Suzuki, Juraj Slafkovsky, Cole Caufield, Ivan Demidov, and Lane Hutson.

Ottawa Senators: When the Sens moved out Tkachuk, they brought in more skill with William Eklund and really changed the dynamic of their lineup. Eklund had great chemistry with Fabian Zetterlund while they were both in San Jose, so I like him in deeper leagues to rebound. Drake Batherson is entering contract year where he will hit unrestricted free agency. At 28 years old, he has a chance to earn himself double than what he is making now with the contracts being thrown out there so if you never believed in "contract years" now is the time.

Tampa Bay Lightning: The Lightning let Darren Raddysh walk after a career season, but replaced him with John Carlson. Carlson showed down the stretch, with Anaheim, that he can still produce points so if he receives the power play time Raddysh had, expect a 50-point season out of the former Washington Capital.

Toronto Maple Leafs: The Leafs won the draft lottery, and a seemingly bleak team was given a breath of fresh air. Gavin McKenna lining up with Auston Matthews could be Matthews/Marner 2.0. Darren Raddysh signing a big ticket with the Leafs in July will mean he is going to get the opportunity, but can he produce like he did in Tampa Bay? On paper, you might take Toronto's power play over Tampa's, but the question is will they gel? His price may be a little high in drafts, but he is worth a flyer if he drops.

Hit me up on Twitter if you have any draft/keeper questions, @LAM1926. Have a great week everyone!
