With the NHL season now in full swing, fans may notice many players on new teams. It can take a while to adjust to all the names wearing different sweaters. That’s where we come in. Today we'll be taking a look at the Top 10 Faces in New Places that have had a notable early impact with their new clubs. (Rookies will not count in this ranking, only free agent signings and traded players.)

10. Nils Hoglander, LW, Nashville Predators
Nils Hoglander was a part of the Nashville Predators’ overhaul to their bottom six over the offseason. Despite showing early promise, he never lived up to his potential during his time with Vancouver. However, he's off to a hot start in his new threads with three goals in his first five contests. He's worked his way onto the second line, so he may have a bit of fantasy relevance if he can remain there.
9. Mackie Samoskevich, RW, Seattle Kraken
Mackie Samoskevich was one of the sneakier offseason pickups for the Seattle Kraken. He has been a key depth piece for the Florida Panthers over the last couple of seasons. At only 23 years old, he should see a bigger opportunity than he was afforded in Florida. He already has three goals in four games alongside Matty Beniers on the Kraken's top line.
8. Paul Cotter, LW, Vancouver Canucks
Few additions have been as productive as the Vancouver Canucks forward Paul Cotter has been to start the season. He has six points in as many games for Vancouver. While the veteran isn't known for his offensive abilities, he may see a bigger role in a thin Canucks offense. Cotter has seen his fantasy ownership skyrocket, but it's unlikely that his early season success will continue.
7. Jaden Schwartz, LW, Colorado Avalanche
Veteran forward Jaden Schwartz's best years are now behind him, but that hasn't stopped him from getting off to a hot start with his new club. He was brought in to provide some depth scoring for the Colorado Avalanche, and the early returns are promising. He's managed six points in his first five contests. The Avalanche have one of the more explosive offenses in the league. If Schwartz can get promoted to the team’s top-six, he could see a very productive campaign.
6. Viktor Arvidsson, RW, Detroit Red Wings
Viktor Arvidsson is an under-the-radar acquisition for a Detroit team that is thin offensively. He had an impressive campaign with the Bruins last season, scoring 54 points in 69 games. Arvidsson has picked up right where he left off, with four points in five games for the Red Wings. He's been a consistent offensive threat wherever he's played and can be a name to round out fantasy rosters in deeper leagues.
5. Ryan Shea, D, Edmonton Oilers
Ryan Shea made a name for himself last season with the Pittsburgh Penguins, helping shore up their defensive core. His play earned him a new contract with the Edmonton Oilers. So far, the 29-year-old has been a welcome addition to the team’s defensive group. On an offensively minded team like Edmonton, we could see Shea build upon his career-high 35 points from last year.
4. Luke Evangelista, RW, New Jersey Devils
The Nashville Predators decision to move on from youngster Luke Evangelista came as a surprise to most. The 24-year-old managed 56 points last season on a Predators offense that struggled at times. He is a welcome addition to the New Jersey Devils top-six group. On a line with Timo Meier and Nico Hischier, Evangelista has recorded three points over his first four contests. We could see him set career highs with his new club this season.
3. Jacob Markstrom, G, Florida Panthers
After the departure of Sergei Bobrovsky in the offseason, Florida needed some help in the crease. As a result, they acquired another veteran goaltender in Jacob Markstrom to shore up their hole in the crease. While he struggled to stay healthy and perform consistently during his time in New Jersey, he's gotten off to a solid start for the Panthers this season. If Florida can return to championship form, Markstrom could hold significant fantasy value.
2. Chris Kreider, LW, Montreal Canadiens
Chris Kreider was a surprising addition for the Canadiens given his history with the franchise. However, he has fit in seamlessly in Montreal's top-six. With the injury to Ivan Demidov, Kreider has become even more valuable, being promoted to the top power-play unit. He is only two years removed from a 39-goal campaign. It's not a stretch to say the 35-year-old could hit the 30 goal mark once again this season for Montreal.
1. Alex Tuch, RW, Washington Capitals
Alex Tuch has come as advertised thus far after signing an eight-year, 84 million deal with the Capitals. Washington has beefed up their offensive group this offseason, and Tuch has been the main piece in the retool. His three goals in four games lead the team in that department. The big power-forward had over 30 goals in each of the last two campaigns. Could we see him hit the 40-goal mark and help the Washington return to the postseason?
