The Stars have signed Joel Lundqvist to a two-year one-way deal. He's on the team now. It's his spot to lose. Lundqvist is ranked 74 on my prospect list.

The Stars have signed Mike Ribeiro to a one-year contract.

The Oil have six offensive rearguards in the mix now with Souray, Tarnstrom, Smid, Grebishkov, Gilbert and of course Pitkanen. A little overcomensating eh? Actually, I think something may be in the works because they have too many of one type of rearguard and not enough scoring forwards.

The Oilers have finally landed a free agent, signing defenseman Sheldon Souray to a five-year deal worth between $4.5 and $5.5 million per season.  Not sure how much this helps them out, but it was a PR move that Lowe was forced to make.

The No.3 player on my prospects list has been signed. The Coyotes have signed Peter Mueller to an entry level contract.

The Pens have signed Colby Armstrong for two years. He still makes a decent dark horse, although not nearly as promising as he was last year coming off a 38 points in 39 game performance to end 2006.

The Rangers have signed Artem Ansimov to a three-year entry level deal. No word on whether or not he will be in training camp. He is ranked 64th on the prospects list.

The Bruins have come to terms with Dennis Wideman, who looks to be their No.2 PP guy after Zdeno Chara this season. Forty points is a possibility.

The Kings have signed Scott Parse to an entry level deal. Parse is ranked 88th on the prospects list and is still at least a year away from cracking this lineup, likely two.

SPECTOR is reporting that the Canucks could be speaking with Nils Ekman.

The Thrashers have re-signed Eric Boulton. His games played stat is dwinding more and more with every season and his PIM totals are experiencing a similar free fall.

This is interesting – the Coyotes are continuing to go the cheap route, as they should, in signing former Pen Tomas Surovy. The speedster couldn't produce on Mario's line, so there is no reason to think that he could produce on a top line in Phoenix.

Brent Sutter is rumored to be the next coach of the Devils. He fits in with their style, but why anyone would want to work for a team that will fire you when you are successful is beyond me.

Both the Carolina and New York media are reporting that the Rangers may dump some salary in the form of Matt Cullen going back the 'Canes. This will free up the cap room needed to re-sign Avery and Hossa. Watch for that, this rumor looks legitimate.
