Six weeks after re-signing a contract with Columbus, Russian center Alexander Svitov signed a deal with Avangaard of the RSL. Gotta love players who don't honor contracts. Hey, at least he broke his signed agreement early, rather than pretending that he would honor it right up until the season began! Anyway, his departure opens up a spot up the middle. I am more certain that Platt will make the team and I will suddenly be paying a lot more attention to Derick Brassard.

The Columbus media has some wishful thinking – Mike Peca. Apparently, he has stated that he is willing to play for the team, however he is all but certain to sign with the Rangers so – wishful thinking.

SPECTOR is reporting that Ed Belfour is considering an offer to play in Sweden. Bye.

The Oilers, still trying to bring a front-line forward to the team, have reportedly made an offer to Forsberg. Again – he will not decide on his NHL future until the end of November, so these rumors are a waste of time. Sorry for posting them.
