Comish has an interesting take in his blog on Team USA – 2010 Olympics. Check it out here…

Brian Pothier was a healthy scratch for the Caps last night.

Michel Ouellet played less than six minutes last night, but still picked up an assist.

After going 16 games with just one point – an assist – Bill Guerin finally scored.

Jeff Hamilton, pointless in eight games, was a scratch last night.

Jordin Tootoo had a goal, an assist and a fight last night.

Alexander Radulov played over 18 minutes – and over five on the power play. He scored his sixth of the season.  Every time I think he's getting the ice time though… it gets pulled back.

Jordan Staal has been living with Mark Recchi in Pittsburgh. Nothing to do with fantasy hockey… but I guess he'll need to move.

Sid the Kid was held scoreless for the second straight game. It was the first time this year that this has happened. I think you will find that this will be the low point of his season – some big numbers are coming up.

Jonathan Cheechoo's woes continue. He left yesterday's game in the first period with a groin injury and is listed as day to day. While I firmly believe that he will have a strong second half… it will be hard to do that if he is hurt. I'll reserve judgment until I see how long this injury lingers.

Martin Brodeur has won nine straight games.

Carey Price got the hook last night and is 1-3-0 in his last four starts with a .882 SV%.

Dobber darling Daniel Carcillo is pointless and a minus-3 in his last seven games and has "just" 12 PIMs in that span. Just a blip, I'd say, but with young players you never know.

Ruslan Fedotenko missed last night's contest with a shoulder injury.

Junior Lessard was sent down to Iowa.

Paul Mara (shoulder) was back in the Rangers lineup Friday. Marek Malik was a healthy scratch.

He can't buy a break. With the return of Scott Thornton to the LA lineup, the Kings scratched Ladislav Nagy… just one day after he had two points.

Raffi Torres and Jarret Stoll were healthy scratches for the Oilers last night.

With Mark Recchi joining the Thrashers, Darren Haydar will likely go back to the minors. Also, Brett Sterling (13 goals in 16 AHL games) has a reduced chance of being recalled this season. sterling is reminding me of Steve Sullivan. If that's the case, then it will three more seasons before he starts putting up 65-plus points and he'll be a 40-point player until then.

Vladimir Sobotka has missed the last two games with his shoulder injury. He is day to day, but will likely be returned to the AHL when he's healthy.

Manny Fernandez' back is apparently fine… it's still his knee that has been bothering him. He is conditioning in the minors right now, but officially on the long-term IR.

The B's decided to put Auld in after all and he performed excellently. As such, I really do not see Rask getting more than half the starts for as long as Thomas and Fernandez are on the shelf.

This project, announced last night, has been a tremendous success already – the inbox is clogged with requests. It's a shame that we can only choose one per month. If your sob story isn't tragic enough, you can always use it again next month!
