From today until June 30, NHL teams are allowed to buy their way out of contracts for two-thirds of the remainder, spread out over twice the term. Check in here for the fantasy reaction to all the buyouts!
SPECTOR is giving his take on a few interesting rumors, as always. Such as: Alexei Yashin in negotiations to return to the Islanders… but sill asking for far too much (said to be $4 million). The Oilers may be shopping Rob Schremp and JF Jacques at the draft.
The Oilers have signed Ryan Potulny to a one-year contract. I really think he will do well there on the second line and deserves a long look deep in your draft. Why not 50 points? The situation seems right.
The Preds have apparently re-signed Ryan Suter to a multi-year deal.
The Boston Globe is reporting that Carl Soderberg will report to camp this fall. He is ranked 129th on my fantasy prospects list and is fully profiled from a fantasy standpoint in my prospects report.
The Boston Globe also reports that they are one of four teams remaining in the Blake Wheeler sweepstakes.
And finally, surprise surprise, the Globe feels that Glen Murray could be bought out this month. That would be a wise decision.
RDS.ca confirmed (in French) that Ray Emery will be bought out today.
