Angus here again… some more draft stuff.

Lombardi is shopping the second overall pick with the LA Kings.

Pierre LeBrun thinks the Ducks are going to make a major trade, regardless of whether Scott Niedermayer returns or not.

Dobber: Interesting rule changes by the NHL for next season. These should not be underestimated. If a team takes a penalty, faceoffs are automatically in their own zone. This will probably result in two or three additional goals per team over the course of the season – or 60 to 90 more goals, or 150 to 200 more points league-wide. Also – if a shot goes off the post or crossbar, the faceoff will be at the dot closest to where the player last touched it. Before, it was a faceoff outside the zone of no defending player tipped it. Again, this should add about one or two goals per team over the course of 82 games, or about 100 more points league-wide. As well, a race for icing – it will result in a penalty if a player interferes with his opponent and is not going for the puck. This should add some penalties and again – some goals. Finally, the goaltending equipment recommendations were accepted across the board, which should add 3% more goals this season.

According to papers in Edmonton, the Hurricanes are very interested in defenseman John-Michael Liles.

Brian Rolston is close to re-signing on a deal with the Wild. He has two or three years of solid fantasy production left in him.

Angus here… from a contact in Ottawa at the draft it looks like Marleau is heading to Columbus (or very close to). The 19th pick has been rumored to be the return, along with a player. My guess would be Zherdev and that pick for Marleau. Stay tuned…

Tampa Bay, just four months after acquiring Picard and a 2nd for Prospal, have re-acquired Prospal for a 7th rounder.

According to Swedish papers, Markus Naslund is all but done in Vancouver. He still wants to play in the NHL, though.

Kings beat writer Rich Hammond belives that the Kings are on the verge of something big between now and the entry draft on Friday. The names bandied about include Cammalleri and Visnovsky.

Ryan Malone told the Columbus Dispatch that he will explore free agency on July 1 and will not negotiate with any team prior to then. This scuttles any chance the Pens have of trading him. "I don't want any team I go to to give up a possible teammate." Malone says. Seems honorable. Of course, he doesn't realize that a player would not have been given up (he did say "potential" player, so maybe he does realize this), it would have been a draft pick that would have helped the team that gave him his shot. I guess Scott Hartnell was selfish last year for allowing a trade and negotiating with Philly.

The Anaheim Ducks have signed Josh Green, who will come back to North America from Germany.

Detroit prospect Dick Axelsson will play next season in Sweden, in case you had hopes that he would make the jump already. He's ranked 147 on my Fantasy Prospects List.

According to the Boston.com Bruins Blog, the team hopes Kyle Beach slips to them at 16 on Friday.

Patrik Berglund, Ian Cole, Lars Eller, T.J. Oshie, David Perron, Roman Polak and Steve Wagner will be the Blues' prospect camp June 24.
