It's a rare night when three players score their first career NHL goals in the same game. Last night Brunnstrom, Hornqvist and Jones did it. The last time three players did this was in October of 2005. If you can tell me, in the NHL Rumors/ Discussion section of the forum, who the three players were in that game in 2005 that scored their first career NHL goals I will award you 10 KARMA.

Marian Gaborik, surprisingly enough, will miss tonight's game with a "lower body" injury. The Wild didn't need to disguise the information like that, since we all know what it is. It starts with a "GR" and ends with an "OIN".

Chicago has fired coach Denis Savard and hired Joel Quenneville. The latter is a good coach, but offers structure (another word for defense) to the team. Furthermore, all players have a clean slate – meaning some will have to impress all over again. Kris Versteeg, Jack Skille and Dave Bolland will all have to impress again, or they will be shipped back to the AHL and the likes of Petri Kontiola will get another chance.

Answer to triva below: Alex Smart and Real Cloutier were the only other rookies to score three in their NHL debut. About 50 people answered this in our fantastic forum – I love how active things are there!

Ryan Jones was in the lineup last night and both he and Patric Hornqvist tallied their first NHL goals. Jones also added an assist and was a plus-2

Fabian Brunnstrom made his NHL debut last night and scored a hat trick. He saw a lot of time with Richards and Avery. I have a feeling he's earned another game in the lineup. He was the third player in NHL history to score three in his debut. Name the other two in the "NHL Discussion" of the forum and I'll slap on +5 Karma for you.

With the Rangers finally losing, perhaps they will dress Nigel Dawes again next game.
The only member of the Rangers who can be sent to the AHL without clearing waivers is Lauri Korpikoski. FYI

Kris Versteeg had two assists for Chicago yesterday. He played just 13:46. I picked him up off of waivers yesterday in the Expert League, deciding (perhaps prematurely) to drop Peter Harrold, LA.

Jack Skille played just 6:50 last night.

Brendan Morrison and Ryan Getzlaf are pointless in four games.

Peter Budaj is off to another poor start, going 0-3 and 4.38. Raycroft may be a decent pickup if your goaltending is hurting, because the opportunity is there for him to steal the starting job. Not that he is a certainty to play any better… still, if you're desperate you have to try.

David Legwand is pointless in four games as well.

Alexander Radulov on the recent "letter" that the KHL said he wrote on Monday: "I didn't say that — that letter was a misunderstanding. I wrote a letter about if it goes to court, I think it should be in Russia because I am in Russia and the team is in Russia. But I never said I don't want to go back to the NHL or something like that.''

There was some worry up in Canada that the listeria problems extended beyond food and that the bacteria actually got onto the Stanley Cup, causing some concern that fans who may have kissed the Cup are at risk. However, authorities have since pointed out that no Maple Leaf product has touched the Stanley Cup in over 40 years, so we're safe.
