Jack Johnson has been activated and is in the Kings' lineup this afternoon. Halfway through the game, he has not been used on the power play. So status quo so far, with regards to Quincey and Harrold.

Bugg here. Pretty interesting Saturday morning. First, the Oilers trade Mathieu Garon to the Pittsburgh Penguins for Dany Sabourin, Ryan Stone and a 4th in… 2011 (the new future considerations).

Immediately afterward, Oilers GM Steve Tambellini was quoted as saying Sabourin would not an NHL asset, and that he was trying to move him. That seemed crazy for all of five minutes, until the Islanders lost Wade Dubligffgcz on waivers to the Blue Jackets thanks to the rule regarding players in European leagues signed mid-season.

What makes this even more of a kick in the junk is that Dubielewicz was supposed to start this evening against New Jersey. While the Isles can scrape by by recalling Yann Danis from Bridgeport, they will eventually need another goalie. Expect to see Sabourin join the Isles at some point this weekend. 

As for fantasy relevance? Garon becomes a potentially useful player, as he could be this year's Ty Conklin. Nobody else in the deal has any use, unless you're a Ryan Stone owner (and why would you be?). 

TJ Hensick has played at least 12 minutes in each of his last nine contests. Prior to that, he played more than 12 minutes in 12 of his 23 games. He has just three points in the recent nine games, but the ice time is a positive sign.

Sidney Crosby's injury is to his knee. He participated in the morning skate yesterday, but it did not feel right so he left early. He considers himself day-to-day. Max Talbot (UBI) also missed. The Pens recalled Pesonen and Thomas from WBS. The latter played seven minutes last night, while the former played 14.

Ryan Whitney has points in his last two games and four in his last six in all. He is slowly coming around.

Jason Williams played 17:01 in his CBJ debut. He saw 3:32 on the PP while manning the point. Surprisingly, his arrival – and the close score – did not keep Filatov's ice time down. Do you think Hitch has been reading these ramblings? Filatov played 12:53 but was pointless.

Kristian Huselius is heating up. Mr. Streaky has eight points in his last eight games.

Mikhail Grabovski lined up with Antropov and Hagman last night. This stuck Stajan with Ponikarovsky and Stempniak, which doesn't bode well for him.

One line that is clicking for the Leafs is Moore centering Jason Blake and Jiri Tlusty. In the two games they have been together, Tlusty has four points, Blake has five (in one game) and Moore has two.

Pens prospect Luca Caputi has 24 points in his last 22 AHL games and seven in his last five. He had five in 18 to start the season. He'll get a very long look in the fall, given the Pens salary situation for next season – they'll be forced to play a couple of rookies and minimum-salary players. Caputi is ranked 51st on my fantasy prospects list.

Since being returned to the AHL earlier in the week, Andreas Nodl has four points in two games for the Phantoms. Nodl is ranked 14th on my fantasy prospects list.

This is how Nathan Gerbe took his demotion to the AHL two weeks ago: 10 points in seven games for Portland. Gerbe is ranked 23rd on my fantasy prospects list and we will see him back soon.

Rob Schremp has just two points in his last nine AHL games. The last time he was a plus-player in an AHL game was November 22. Since then, he has been minus or zero. So a minus-11 rating since then. Just one week ago, I was quite high on this kid's progress – he was brought along nice and slow and had three points in four games during a call up. All very positive. But then I read MacT's comments (in my ramblings a few days ago) and I read these game-by-game stats and I now wonder if he'll be an NHL bust. He is ranked 34th on my prospects list.

In his four-game call up so far, Ryan Potulny has three points and is a plus-3. The former Top 30 guy in my prospects list has freefallen to 130th, but his recent success will help him next update.

Since his return from a LBI, Andrei Kostitsyn has 14 points in 10 games.

The streaky Antti Mietinen has five points in his last three contests.

Travis Zajac has six points in his last four – and 33 in his last 39 which is a 69-point pace. That's what I have his upside pegged at, so it looks like he's there.

In 17 games for Phoenix, Joakim Lindstrom has seven goals. he was a healthy scratch earlier in the week, but he seems to be coming along. He's a Doan or Mueller injury away from really surprising with added responsibility.

Patrick Kane, playing on his bad wheel, has one point in eight games and a minus-5. In other words – he should have sat and healed. Now this will drag on. I would advise quietly shopping him, if you are in a one-year league.
