With Torts in NY, do you really see Sean Avery going there? Can Torts put up with Avery? I'm thinking… nope.

Don't forget to check out DobberBaseball for your summer fantasy fix. The guide is a steal at $3.99

It looks as if John Tortorella will be the next head coach of the Rangers, per TSN. He is best known for playing the hell out of his stars. This bodes well for Gomez, Drury and Naslund. It could also look good for highly-paid underacheiver Wade Redden, but we'll have to see on him.

I'm getting good at this: back-to-back coach firings the day I speculate that they will go. Tom Renney is goneski. He didn't deserve it really, but his players didn't play for him. The Rangers will start scoring some goals now, I figure.

Update on the private messaging: it was to have been set up this morning, but it will apparently be late tonight when there is less traffic. Apologies!!

My point below re: "Finnish Superstar", as I noted in the forum – while Selanne is indeed signed for next year, he is no longer the superstar that he was when he played alongside McDonald. Just to clarify.

DobberHockey has added another new feature. By heavy request, we have added private messaging to the forum. There may still be kinks, just post your problem in the forum in the "Other" section. But it should go smoothly as it tested well. If you thought the forum was great before…check it out now!

With three points last night, Pavel Kubina has 11 in his last 11.

Interesting trade possibility – Steve Sullivan, who is a UFA this summer.

Rookie Steve Mason (although he is playing with mono) has numbers like this: 23-13-3, 7 SO, 2.17, .919. Rookie Pekka Rinne: 17-10-1, 5 SO, 2.23, .923. Not that far off – bet you didn't know that.

I told you the Jackets really loved this guy and that as a result he would have a big year – Fedor Tyutin will end up with 30 points and 75 PIMs. Still only 25, I think he'll be a 45-point rearguard starting next year.

Mike Richards has eight points in his last two games and 16 in his last 10.

How does Ovechkin average nearly seven shots a game this season? Remarkable.

Andrew Ebbett has 14 points in 18 games. He was going to be the subject of Sunday's article, but then I realized that a trade deadline look was needed so Ebbett got bumped. However, I suspect that Anaheim may have found the next Andy McDonald here. Boom or bust for next season. He won't get 80 like McDonald did, however, as there will be no Finnish superstar on his wing.

I'm struggling in the Expert's League. Actually, I'm struggling in all five of my leagues this year so I wonder if I overextended myself, but I digress. In the DobberHockey Expert League I can't seem to rise (or fall) out of the 7 spot. My weakest categories are goals (assists are strong), shots (well, duh), and the goaltending categories. Chris Osgood got me decent wins and Ryan Miller got me great wins – but now you see my problem. Miller. I have played the waiver wire well and found myself with too many great forwards on my bench. I had no room for Stoll, Bertuzzi, or Zednik despite how well they are doing – and I don't have room to activate Fedotenko from IR. So I pulled the trigger on a deal with Status yesterday. I traded: Osgood, Bertuzzi, Selanne, Letang and Horcoff for pretty much Carey Price and some dropsies. If you call Svatos, Voracek, Jones and Umberger dropsies. I now have Price and Budaj between the pipes and Miller on the bench, and I freed up a lot of room for my other players. Overpay for a slumping goalie? Yep. But you try getting 'great' goaltending from some of the best fantasy minds in the business!
