Petri Kontiola went to the Ducks in the Wisneiwski deal. Analysis is updated.
The James Wisneiwski trade is up, but because it is of lesser significance it is not on the homepage. Check the TRADE LOG for the analysis…
The Jackets have acquired 22-year-old goaltender Kevin Lalande from Calgary for a fouth-round pick. He was Calgary's fifth-round selection in the 2005 draft.
The Leafs took some salary and in exchange they got a fourth round pick. The details? They picked up Olaf Kolzig, Jamie Heward, Andy Rogers. They gave up a minor leaguer to make this an official hockey deal. Richard Petiot was the minor leaguer who went to TB. Not of fantasy significance.
Edmonton picked up Kotalik for a 2nd round pick. Analysis is up…
Rumor: the Oilers acquire Ales Kotalik.
Patrick O'Sullivan has been traded to Edmonton via Carolina in a two-part deal. Justin Williams is another component gone. Erik Cole IS another piece to this. Analysis is up…
The Ducks have traded Kent Huskins and Travis Moen to San Jose for Nick Bonino, goaltender Timo Pielmeier and a draft pick. Pielmeier is a very good and promising goaltender that the Ducks will sit on for several years and bring him in much like the brought in Bryzgalov and Hiller – nice and slow, keeping the quality nice and consistent.
Every year, the trades pile up around 3:30-4pm and I start to fall behind. So instead of waiting five minutes for the analysis, you may have to wait 20 ;)
San Jose has traded Kyle McClaren to Philadelphia for a sixth rounder. No fantasy significance.
Chicago has traded James Wisneiwski to Anaheim for Sami Pahlsson. Analysis is up…
Steve Eminger has been traded to Florida for Noah Welch by the Lightning.Analysis is up, but because it is of lesser significance it is not on the homepage. Check the TRADE LOG for the analysis…
Ponikarovsky was NOT traded. Neither was Jay Bouwmeester. Nor Chris Neil.
Atlanta trades Erik Christensen to Anaheim for prospect Eric O'Dell (ranked 180 on my prospects list). Analysis is up…
Dominic Moore has been traded to Buffalo. Analysis is up…
The Rangers have acquired Derek Morris for Dimitri Kalinen, Nigel Dawes and Petr Prucha. Analysis is up…
Rumor: the Preds have acquired Alexei Ponikarovsky, with Dan Ellis rumored as part of the package.
The Rangers have acquired Nik Antropov. Analysis is up…
Phoenix has traded Daniel Carcillo to Philadelphia for Scottie Upshall and a second rounder. Brandon Prusts' arrival allowed for Phoenix to let their agitator go. Analysis is up.
PIT claims Craig Adams off of waivers. No fantasy significance
PIT has acquired Bill Guerin. Analysis is up…
Mark Recchi has been traded to the Bruins for Lashoff and Karsums. Analysis is up.
St. Louis has recalled goaltender Ben Bishop. Chris Holt has been sent down.
Pens are said to be after either Jarkko Ruutu or Bill Guerin.
Dallas has claimed Brendan Morrison off of waivers. Analysis is up…
The Calgary deal is finalized, acquiring centre Olli Jokinen from the Phoenix Coyotes for centre Matthew Lombardi, forward Brandon Prust and a first-round pick. Analysis is up…
Vesa Toskala is out for the season. His groin injury requires surgery – thus the acquisition of Gerber. Again – OUT FOR THE SEASON.
Petteri Nokelainen has been traded by the Bruins to the Ducks for Steve Montador. Not of fantasy significance so no analysis forthcoming.
An Olli Jokinen trade to Calgary is forthcoming (Lombardi and Prust said to be going the other way)
Alexander Ovechkin injured his foot and had to be helped to the dressing room in practice this morning. A trainer is saying is doesn't look to be serious, but I don't really buy that. Stay tuned…
Buffalo has acquired Mikael Tellqvist from Phoenix. Analysis is up…
Toronto claimed Eric Reitz off of waivers from the Rangers
Toronto claims Martin Gerber off of waivers from the Sens. Analysis is up…
The Penguins have acquired Andy Wozniewski from St. Louis for Danny Richmond. No fantasy value here, no analysis forthcoming on this.
Calgary has acquired Jordan Leopold from Colorado for Lawrence Nycholat, a pick and a prospect. Analysis is up…
Scratch Tim Connolly off your list. He signed a huge deal – $9 million over two years. He stays in Buffalo. A great signing if he plays 150 games over those two years. I put the over/under at 100 games.
The Sens have extended Filip Kuba for three more years (3.7 per season), thus removing him from the trading block.
Pascal Leclaire has been traded to Ottawa, along with a second round pick for Antoine Vermette. Analysis is up…
Because Colorado (where DET is playing tonight) is over 18 hours away from Grand Rapids (where their farm is playing tonight), do not expect a forward to be recalled to replace Hossa. I would guess seven defensemen will be dressed. If they do recall someone, Ville Leino will be the guy for sure.
Kaberle left last night's contest with an injury to the same hand that he broke just a little while ago. This would pretty much take him out of many trade discussions I am sure.
Alex Burrows has 10 points in his last eight games and 23 PIM in that span, as well as a plus-7. If you owned him for the last three weeks… congratulations.
Note that we now have a "comments" section at the end of every article. This is brand new! Including the bottom of these ramblings, so let the chatter begin… (you must be logged in though)
The Isles have returned Jesse Joenssu to Bridgeport.
The Flyers recalled Claude Giroux and he played over 15 minutes, including second unit PP time. He was held pointless though.
Danny Briere is pointless in two games since his return. Last night he saw a mere 14:27 in ice time.
Calgary's Jamie Lundmark has to be on your radar. He has six points in eight NHL games this season, including four out of five since his call up.
Chris Kunitz potted another two goals for his new team. That gives him five in three games. Most players really step up when they land on a new squad, but given the linemate potential here, you can't help but think of the possibilities. Don't christen him as more than a 60-point guy just yet.
Atlanta's Jim Slater returned from his shoulder injury to score a goal. Prior to his missing 16 games, he had five points in eight games. Since the Thrashers are a good bet to shed some forward depth, Slater could be a dark horse for 14 points in the final 18 games.
Jiri Tlusty was named the AHL player of the month for February. He had 23 points in 11 games last month and you can see him play on Saturday at a discounted price. I have also INCREASED the odds that your ticket will be upgraded to the luxury suite. If you live anywhere near Toronto, you don't want to pass this up. Details below.

TSN says that the Ducks say that Pronger is now off the market. I say it's posturing and if the deal is right it will be done.
You can now comment on every article (including these ramblings) at the bottom of each article. You must be logged in.
The latest on Marian Hossa, who returned from his neck injury last night only to slide head first into the boards and be carried off on a stretcher, is okay and he asked doctors if he could play tonight. The answer was no, but it would seem that he won't be out for long.
Chris Osgood got his first shutout of the season. Naturally, it was after I traded him away in the Experts League, but I'm sure you've been there.
Here is the code to stick my ramblings widget on your website – up to the second updates of all the deals!
