Todd Bertuzzi was back in the lineup and played 15:39. He played with Jokinen and Moss as the Flames attempted to spread out their offense. Iggy played with Glencross and Conroy. Cammy played with Langkow and Lundmark

The Hurricane's signed Jamie McBain and assigned him to Albany. McBain's future fantasy value is discussed at length by Matt Bugg in the latest Dobber Nation Podcast.

Jordan Eberle, ranked 29th, will join the Springfield Falcons after signing a deal with them.

The Preds recalled Cal O'Reilly to replace David Legwand last night. He played 14:08 and was a plus-1. Legwand will miss another two games yet with a cheekbone injury.

Patric Hornqvist's ice time was down to five minutes. That is usually the prelude to a demotion. Hornqvist should have a stronger impact in the fall.

After getting five points in for games, the Isle's Mike Iggulden was pointless and a minus-4 in five games. He was demoted to Bridgeport yesterday.

Jannik Hansen played eight minutes in his return to the lineup.

Huselius and Nash had four points each last night. For Nash, that puts him at a career high of 71 points.

I love Bruce Boudreau's response to TSN kicking a dead cat. They did the same thing with Sean Avery – bugged and bugged and bugged about things that nobody cares about, trying desperately to get a reaction and then when they do they vilify him. Anyway, this from the Washington Post when TSN asked about the "celebration": "You wanna go there?" he asked the first reporter to broach the topic. "It's 10 friggin' days since it happened. We have talked to Tampa's coaches. We have said our speech. The people that are bringing the crap up are you guys. Nobody cares about it anymore. You guys want to bring it up because you want to see a riot, then you want to talk about retribution. It's the dumbest thing in the world. You gotta have better stuff to talk about." Note to TSN: grow up.

It's been 11 games between starts, but Craig Anderson has won two in a row. The Panthers are desperate, and I think they will go with him again. It is rare that Anderson gets just a single start this season – since November 1 his starts have usually been clustered.

Have the Flyers found the next Nicklas Backstrom? They signed 27-year-old undrafted goalie Johan Backlund to a contract. Both Biron and Nittymaki are free agents in the summer, so this is an interesting situation to watch.

Brenden Morrow is skating for the Stars and apparently looking pretty good doing it. Suddenly, I don't rule him out of the first round at all. In fact, could we see him this season still? Desperate times for the Stars.

Ottawa is 15-7-3 under the new coach.

Klesla welcomes Bert back into the lineup. As a bonus, a nice tilt between Boll and Vandermeer:
