The Gazette is reporting that Petr Sykora will be replaced in the lineup by Miro Satan. Sykora was reportedly caught off guard by the switch. Looks like Bylsma will go with the hot hand going forward.

The Knights were eliminated from the postseason and John Tavares did not lead them in scoring. Washington d-man John Carlson had 22 points in 14 games and was a plus-11 and Nazem Kadri had 21 points and was a plus-6. JT had 21 points and was a minus-2. That didn't help his cause, fantasy-wise. For more on my fantasy take of Tavares, the Knights, the Spitfires and other prospects, click here.

James van Riemsdyk has two points in 10 regular season and playoff AHL games. It's looking as though he will play the bulk of next season with the Phantoms.

Ken Hitchcock has put the kibosh on any talk that Filatov will get into the lineup for Game 4, saying it wouldn't be fair to the players who have played all season long. Brassard will not play either, as he did not receive medical clearance.

From Russo's Rants : Brent Burns, besides recovering from post-concussion syndrome, will undergo shoulder surgery today, which will require four months to heal. Look for 45 points in 70-75 games next year.

Andrew Brunette had reconstructive knee surgery and will be gone 4-6 months. Look for similar numbers as I put for Burns above. Russo jokes "the way the B’s are dropping, Marc-Andre Bergeron better be careful walking across the street", because other than Burns and Brunette, you know about Backstrom, and Bouchard has a concussion.

Dan Fritsche has a broken collarbone.

NYR coach Tortorella is very upset with Sean Avery for taking a pair of silly penalties last night when they were clinging to a one-goal lead. Is he angry enough to scratch him? I doubt it, but we shall see.

Jamie Langenbrunner is doubtful for Game 5 because of his LBI.

📢 advertisement:

Mats Sundin is certain that his groin will be fine in time to start the second round. He missed the last two games for the Canucks.

Still no word on whether Taylor Pyatt will rejoin the team for the second round. Understandably, he is still coming to terms with the death of his fiance earlier this month.

Craig Conroy suffered an undisclosed injury last night and left the game. Now word on Game 5.

Daymond Langkow also left yesterday's contest with an injured hand. No word on the severity, as can be expected in NHL come playoff time.

Rene Bourque did not dress because of an UBI. He should be back for Game 5.

The Sharks went in a different direction yesterday, signing an undrafted player from out of the Canadian University system. Kevin Henderson is a 6-3, 208 pound 22-year-old who finished fifth in CIS scoring. I'm sure he'll play next year in the AHL and without knowing too much about this guy, I would liken him to a smaller Dustin Penner type.

With St. Louis eliminated, here are some things to take away from that: McDonald, Backes, Boyes and Perron were the only multi-point getters. Tkachuk, Oshie and Berglund were the notable players who went pointless in four. Chris Mason maintained the same SP that he had in the season.

With Montreal eliminated, here are some things to take away from that: Carey Price had a poor round – but no matter how bad things looked, the Habs stuck with him through and through. He'll have to lose 20 games in a row before the team turns to Halak. Koivu, Kovalev, Metropolit, Higgins and Weber were the only multi-point getters. That should secure a spot for Weber next campaign. Plekanec was pointless for three and a healthy scratch for one. Hamrlik was pointless and a minus-5 on the series.
