Evgeni Malkin has 21 points in his last 10 games. These are tight playoff games, mind you, not loosey-goosey regular season games. Now try and tell me that when he hits his prime in three or four years that he won't get 150 points. Try.

David Krejci will undergo hip surgery today. He will be sidelined until mid-September at the earliest – or mid-November at the latest.

It still looks like Datsyuk and Draper will return to the lineup tonight and replace Abdelkader and Leino. Rafalski and Holmstrom missed practice yesterday, as I'm sure you know, but are expected to be in the lineup.

Eric Fehr had surgery on both of his shoulders (torn labrum on each) two weeks ago and is out for 3-6 months. That puts training camp in doubt. On one hand, perhaps that is why he performed so poorly down the stretch.

It's looking more and more as if Ray Emery will be the starter in Philly. He will be a cheap solution that will give them cap relief and is a dark horse to be a very strong netminder. He is also a dark horse to be a very weak one. Big risk. Emery can't sign with an NHL team until July 1.

John Tavares, speaking to islanderspointblank.com : "Even before I visited with the Islanders and got to know the owner and the GM, there was never an issue. Now that I’ve gotten to know what the franchise is about, I feel even stronger about it. I want to be part of them rebuilding into a contender. I want to be part of a Stanley Cup team there. I want to be an Islander. Can you please make that clear in your article?"

Why do 95% of the media outlets and 99% of the fans call it the Stanley Cup Finals? It's "Final". There aren't two of them. Pet peeve…

Yahoo! is suing the NFLPA for threatening them with a lawsuit if they don't pay royalties for player names and statistics. The NFLPA is doing this despite the fact that fantasy baseball site CBS won a similar case already. Without fantasy sports, regular sports would see a huge slowdown in growth, interest and by extension – money. We are good for sports. Period. Full article can be found HERE.
