Blues Sign Ty Conklin

St. Louis has signed goaltender Ty Conklin to a two-year contract worth $1.3 million per season.

Fantasy Impact: This move helps Conklin owners as he at least has a SHOT at getting in some games this year. This obviously hurts Chris Mason, as he is no longer the clear-cut man on the Blues. Mason could very well falter like he did in Nashville, in which case Conklin would get in 55 games. My money is on Mason holding him off and starting 55-60 games, Conklin 25 games or so.

Ben Bishop will spend another year in the minors – my outlook on him is slipping, he needs his NHL shot by 2010-11 or it may be time to give up.

As mentioned in the ramblings a couple of days ago, Jimmy Howard will get an opportunity (finally) to back up Chris Osgood – he could be a dark horse, all it takes is an Osgood stumble or injury.
