Dobber’s THN column on some home-ice performers who are notably weak on the road so far this year. Tomorrow – the Road Warriors. Also, here is his bi-weekly mailbag, posted Wednesday.

Only one game on the schedule tonight – flip me an e-mail or a tweet if you want me to discuss a player/team/trade in tomorrow’s ramblings.

If you aren’t using the Game Planner tool (just click on the Fantasy Tools section on the left hand menu to access it), you are missing out. Edmonton vs. Colorado tonight – get the details of the matchup here.

I have posted a few new wallpapers over on the hockey forums. Check them all out here.

Craig Anderson left the Avalanche game last night after re-aggravating his lower body injury.

Jeff Tambellini looked great skating on the second line with Raymond and Kesler. He should have never been sent down in the first place.

The DobberBaseball Prospects Report is out!

Semyon Varlamov started for the Caps last night – as a Neuvirth owner, I am glad he is my third goalie. I expect a lot of frustration from Varlamov/Neuvirth owners for the rest of the season…

Ovechkin was goalless, but he had three assists and finished the game with 10 shots on goal.

I hammered him when he was struggling, so time for me to give him his due – Marc Andre-Fleury is playing very good hockey for the Penguins right now.

The Flyers are 12-2-1 in their past 15 games.

Patrick O'Sullivan scored the lone Minnesota goal last night. The Wild originally drafted him back in 2003 – he was traded to Los Angeles for Pavol Demitra before ever playing a game with the team.

The Wild recently claimed him off of waivers from Carolina. I have zero expectations for him – he has been a huge disappointment too many times.

Andreas Nodl has eight points in his past 10 games. He has gone pointless only twice during that span. A nice complimentary player who will always play with talented linemates – the Flyers are incredibly deep up front.

I rarely pick up a player solely for plus-minus purposes (Jeff Schultz last year comes to mind), but I have done so this season with Andrej Meszaros (plus-15).

Andy McDonald is quietly on pace for close to 25 goals and over 60 points.

Buy-low candidate – Shea Weber. On pace for less than 10 goals and only 30 points.

Mark Recchi recorded his 1500th career point in the NHL last night. I am continually amazed with how effective he still is at his age.

Horton was not surprisingly booed a lot by those (few) in attendance for the Boston/Florida game last night.

Michal Repik recorded his first point of the season last night. I'd pass on all young Panther players in one-year leagues, and I'd slide them down my list in keeper leagues – not enough talent to play with right now. Not a lot of help on the way either.

Savard and Sturm are both close to returning – Pete Chiarelli has some work cut out for him – all 29 other GM's know he needs to cut salary, so he won't be dealing from a position of strength.

My guess – Wheeler is the main victim of the required cost-cutting. He definitely has trade value, although Boston could only take back futures.

David Krejci had two helpers last night – his first points since returning from a concussion three games ago.

If you are sick of me mentioning how mad I am at myself for trading Steve Stamkos… read on. Three more points for him last night – a goal and two primary assists. A combination of Mike Modano (speed, creativity, playmaking) and Brett Hull (ability to hammer the puck).

Simon Gagne has missed 16 games with a "neck" injury.

Ryan Malone is another buy-low candidate. He had only three goals on the season entering last night (he scored twice against the Rangers on Wednesday).

Derek Stepan is back from the dead – eight points in seven games. He hit a wall after a hot start, but looks to be back on track.

Dana Tyrell has four points in 18 games with the Lightning this season. He doesn't have value unless you are in a deep keeper league, but keep an eye on him. I've liked what I have seen from him at the lower levels.

Erik Karlsson has been a healthy scratch for two-straight games (I heard that he had the flu in a few places, though). Disappointing, sure. But when a window closes, another opens (is that how the saying goes?). Buy low time!

Mike Fisher has one goal and zero points in his past 10. Mr. Underwood is on pace for a measly 30 points.

How good would Brad Richards look in Leaf blue or Ranger blue/red? The answer – very, very good. Both teams have significant holes, but a legitimate playmaking number one center would go a long way to solving some of those issues.

Any Matt Niskanen owners out there? Zero goals in 19 games.

I caught the Calgary/New Jersey game last night – was not really impressed by either team. A very sloppy game.

Olli Jokinen returned from suspension, just as Matt Stajan was absent from the lineup with an injury. Jokinen was pointless, but he did ,play close to 22 minutes.

Carey Price won 13 games all of last season. He won his 13th of this season last night. Kudos to Price for stepping into a very difficult situation (playoff hero Halak leaving, taking a while to sign a contract) and absolutely dominating.

Who has two thumbs and isn't surprised with how well the Thrashers are playing? This guy! Captain Ladd and the boys are on a roll – the overall record isn't great but they were getting awful goaltending from Mason for a few games.

Jiri Hudler was a healthy scratch last night.
