Linus Omark is going to be a healthy scratch for the Oilers tonight.

Brian Rolston cleared re-entry waivers.

Kyle Okposo is at least two weeks away from returning to the Isles lineup.

MacLean-Turris-Boedker generated two goals for the ‘Yotes last night. A sign of things to come?

The Kings are 7-24-3 in their past 34 games in Phoenix. I wonder if they have a favorite bar (or ten) that they frequent the night before?

Ryan Whitney could be out for a while. A crippling blow to a team already thin on the back end. Whitney has been far and away Edmonton’s best player this season.

I'm interested to see where Marek Svatos slots in with Nashville.

I have always enjoyed watching Svatos play – stylistically (I stress this word in a huge way considering the comparison I am about to make), he is the closest player I have seen to Pavel Bure in today's game. Gaborik has the speed, but Svatos has the quickness in close with the puck on his blade. Anyway, that is the last time I'll ever use Svatos and Bure in the same sentence, I promise.

Lidstrom assisted on seven straight Detroit goals before missing out on one last night. Norris Nick never ceases to amaze.

Since Pavel Datsyuk went down with a broken arm, Lidstrom has three goals and eight points in four games.

Is Brian Boyle for real? I'm not really sure what to make of his 30-goal pace with the Rangers.

Andrew MacDonald played almost 28 minutes for the Isles last night. He's an under-the-radar defenseman who has some offensive upside.

Rookie Travis Hamonic had a helper and he played over 25 minutes. He'll step into a lot of Wisniewski's minutes in the top four.

Cam Ward is such a feast or famine start right now – he shut out the Sens last night, but he's also had a few stinkers this season. It comes with the territory (playing a lot behind a very inexperienced team).

Pat Dwyer has four points in his last two games for Carolina. Dwyer was a decent offensive player at Western Michigan, and he had 24 goals in the AHL last season. Seems to be getting a tiny bump in ice time lately too.

Brent Burns is on pace for over 20 goals and close to 50 points. My fantasy sleeper of three years ago seems to be back on track after a few injury-plagued seasons.

It seems to be the year of the hat trick – the latest coming from Patrick Eaves in Detroit. He's getting more ice time with Cleary out.

Jiri Hudler has four points in his last two games. He had six in the previous 30.

Dobber jumping on even though it’s Angus’ day, I had to weigh in with some thoughts. I noticed Brett MacLean scored for Phoenix. I don’t think he’ll be up for long, but seeing immediate results bodes well for his future. Next year – full time.

Jiri Hudler has two points (and counting). It took an injury to Cleary and Datsyuk, but this guy is rolling now. Finally. Pick him up ASAP, you will be rewarded.

Brayden Schenn – four more goals. He is everything that Mike Richards was at his age. I expect the same career progression and upside. Not an elite Steven Stamkos talent, but a definite star in the making. I leave the rest to Angus, I’m off to bed.
