Just pulled the trigger on a fairly large trade in one of my keeper leagues. If you have a few minutes check out my analysis here.

The Midseason Guide, you can buy it here, re-released this morning with some updates to prep you for this weekend’s midseason draft.

Ryan Suter is plus-13 over his past seven games. Weber may be the heart and soul of the Predators, but Suter is the backbone. His production has picked up of late as well.

Jamie McBain has six points in his last seven games. Look for a strong finish to the season from him.

Matt D'Agostini and Vlad Sobotka are both stepping up in a huge way for the Blues. D'Agostini has 10 points and is a plus-5 in his past 10 games.

However, it is only a matter of time until the pair are back in more of a depth/energy role. Perron and McDonald are still both out indefinitely, but TJ Oshie should be back by the end of the month.

A phenomenal Varlamov/Neuvirth read. Very comprehensive analysis of the two Washington ‘tenders.

Zherdev had a goal and an assist in his return to the lineup for the Flyers. He only played 11:30, though.

Ville Leino is proving that his run last spring was no fluke. He's on pace for 60 points and is playing important minutes for the Flyers. I wrote him off during my drafts, but I was able to trade for him about a month ago right as his production started to take off.

Brad Marchand has points in three straight and eight in his last 10. He's one of my favourite players in the league to watch – if he gets on a scoring line or in a scoring role in the future, he has 25-goal, 60-point upside. Trouble with that is he is so good in a checking/energy role that he may get "stuck" there.

An awesome fantasy hockey strategy – well worth the read. I mean it! A DobberHockey forum member shares a successful strategy that has enabled him to consistently win his pools over the past 10 years.

Boston rookie defenseman Steve Kampfer has four goals in 17 games. He's got upside as an offensive defenseman, and I'd consider him in deep one-year/keeper leagues.

Patrice Bergeron is on fire – 13 points in his last nine games. He has emerged as Boston's best center over the past month or so.

Cory Schneider was phenomenal for the Canucks last night. He stopped 34 of 35 shots. The Canucks probably won't move him this season (nice insurance policy), but his value will be sky-high in the summer. He finally lost a game in regulation, though. His record is now 8-1-2.

Henrik Lundqvist proved again last night why he is the best goaltender on the planet. It is such a treat to watch him play.

Why are the Sharks struggling? They lack mobility and puck skills on the back end. Doug Wilson has turned that team from a contender into a borderline playoff squad with embarrassingly bad depth.

The forwards are struggling because the defense can't get them the puck in a scoring area (or in any area offensively), and the goaltenders are struggling because the defense can't cover the opposition properly.

An example of Wilson's horrid management? He traded Ehrhoff (who makes $3.1 million) to Vancouver in the summer of 2009 as a salary dump. Later that season, he traded for Niclas Wallin and signed him to a $2.5 million extension.

Shea Weber has points in seven straight games. Second half monster, bank on it.

Legwand had two points last night and now has nine in his last 10. The top line with Svatos, Legwand, and Wilson is clicking.

Wilson has eight points in eight games. He is about a season ahead of where I had him pegged offensively. He could hit 50 points this season (no small feat on the balanced Predators).

Mikkel Boedker played only nine minutes last night after being called up, but he did manage to record an assist. He's two years away from fantasy relevance.

Keith Yandle had a goal and two helpers. He's going to hit 70 points – I'll guarantee it. Save this, write it down, tell your friends. A solid confirmation from Angus.

Ray Whitney has fit in much better than I had expected in Phoenix. He'll likely finish the season with close to 20 goals and 50 points.

All it took for the Senators to win a game was a date with the lowly Islanders.

Robin Lehner got the start – he was far from spectacular though, allowing four goals on 24 shots.

Kevin Poulin's run hit a snag last night as he was pulled after allowing two goals on eight shots.

Does Jeff Skinner hit 30 goals this season? It will be interesting to see if/when he hits the "rookie wall."

Jeff Tambellini is struggling for the Canucks right now. He was demoted to the fourth line last night.

If he continues to put up blanks on the score sheet, I wouldn’t be shocked to see Sergei Shirokov get the call up. He has been playing excellent hockey over the past two months, and is starting to dominate game-in and game-out at the AHL level.

One thing about Shirokov I admire is his desire to play in the NHL. He has repeatedly turned down KHL contracts that would pay him 8-10 times what he is making in the AHL, but he doesn’t want to give up on his NHL dream. That is dedication right there.

How many games for this blindside hit?
