Goldie: Here are my thoughts on the Anderson deal and how it might impact Robin Lehner. Also, Atte Engren has been assigned to Milwaukee. He’s #39 on my Top-100 Prospects list and has been one of the best SM-liiga goalies over the past two seasons.

Dobber: Craig Anderson has re-signed with the Senators for four years, per Bruce Garrioch. He’s only 29 so I don’t have a problem with the tenure, although I don’t fully trust his knees. And poor Robin Lehner will have things delayed, unless Anderson’s knee acts up. At any rate, Anderson did what all goalies should do after seeing last summer – signing early. Don’t get hung out to dry as NHL teams import undrafted Europeans to fill up spots.

The Calder will come down to Grabner, Skinner, and Couture. However, I’d think about giving it to Carlson.

There is precident for giving it to a defensman over a scoring forward (Barrett Jackman won over Zetterberg a few years ago). Carlson is playing 22 minutes per game on a strong defensive club, and will hit the 30 point mark.

I’d say it is harder to make an impact on defense as a rookie (a position with more responsibilities).

Kevin Bieksa is playing for the Canucks on Wednesday. He will likely take the place of Chris Tanev (assuming there are no injuries between now and then….).

Callahan and Dubinsky are such terrific players – both had three points and dominated in all areas of the game against Pittsburgh last night. Speed, grit, skill, defensive presence – very well-rounded in real life (and fantasy hockey with PIM/hits/SOG).

Callahan has 14 points in his last nine games.

Lundqvist stopped 38 of 40 after sitting out practice. His injury obviously isn't serious, but he was ran a few times in the Montreal game on Friday pretty hard.

Artem Anisimov has 10 points in his last 10 games, (and five in his last three).

Blake Geoffrion had a hat trick for the Preds last night (in less than 11 minutes of ice time) – he is already a very well rounded player, which helps him fit in to Nashville's system.

Five rookies have hat tricks this season (and three of them are against Buffalo, the other two being Grabner and Stepan). Seems to be the season of the hat trick.

Speaking of hat tricks, PK Subban turned the trick against Minnesota last night.

David Desharnais had three helpers, played almost 19 minutes, and saw a lot of PP time. Great scoop by Dobber a few months ago – I grabbed him and he's been a very solid winger for me.

Desharnais has 22 points in 34 games – roughly a 55 point pace over a full season.

James Wisniewski is now three points from 50. Plus-minus isn't great (Long Island), but he may be on the 2010-11 Prime Cuts defensive unit if he finishes the season strong. The team will be unveiled throughout the month of April.

Pat Sharp left the game last night after going knee-on-knee with a Coyote. Will update when something comes out…

Chris Campoli scored his first goal as a Hawk – he's been a great fit with the team. Fits the puck possession style, good passer, smart player, and very mobile.

Wild game between Calgary and Anaheim. The Flames came back from 3-0 down only to lose 5-4 in OT. Anaheim will be scary this postseason if Hiller returns. Their depth is average at best, but their top end talent is ridiculous.

Jay Bouwmeester was pointless and minus-3. He's a solid defensive defenseman, but it is tough to justify paying nearly $7 million of cap space to a player who contributes four or five goals per season.

Corey Perry with another stat-filling night – two goals, one helper, four shots on goal, two PIM, one PPP, and a GWG.

Teemu, I am sorry I thought you were done. Selanne had three points and could hit 75 by the end of the season.

Columbus fired a measly 13 shots on Brodeur last night. One of the easiest of his 115 career shutouts.

David Clarkson had two goals last night. He is the perfect example of how important PP time is for production. Because of NJ's forward situation, he was bumped off the PP unit this season. He scored over 20 last year and will need a strong finish to hit 15. Good net presence, but there is a big difference between Mair/Pelley and Zajac/Parise/Kovalchuk.

Cody Franson had a helper last night and could finish the season with 10 goals and 30 points. His upside – 15 goals, 45-50 points. Rough defensively at times, but he is a terrific passer and his shot is heavy and accurate.

Mike Fisher is pointless in his last 10 games.

Martin Erat continues his hot play – one of the streakiest players in the league. If he keeps this up he may win my one of my leagues!

Pekka Rinne got the night off, and Lindback was very solid. Is Rinne slowly stealing the Vezina from Tim Thomas? Before the rest, he had started 20 straight for the Preds.

Who should suspend Cooke longer – the NHL, or the Penguins? Cooke is putting Mario Lemieux in an awfully tough spot.
