Campbell

Fantasy Impact: The Chicago Blackhawks have traded Brian Campbell to the Florida Panthers for Rostislav Olesz.

The Panthers get: A top underrated puck-mover and some salary to move them closer to the floor, and tempering that cap hit by getting rid of the albatross Olesz contract.

The Blackhawks get: Some breathing room under the salary cap. Olesz is a solid two-way winger who can play some center, but he has had so many injuries that it has pretty much shut the door on him ever reaching his potential.

Fantasy Players Impacted: Although in a way, adding Olesz undoes the roster spot that was freed up in the Troy Brouwer move, it actually doesn’t due to the roles. Olesz’s arrival will hurt Viktor Stalberg, but little else. It helps Olesz to get a fresh start and just start over, but everything depends on his health.

Campbell’s presence in Florida helps Dmitry Kulikov, not hinders. It probably pushes Alexander Sulzer out of the mix, but the Panthers look real good with a Campbell-Kulikov duo on the blue line. Campbell will be the Kaberle to Kulikov’s McCabe. Campbell goes from 30 points to 50 with this move, as he is out from under the star tandem in Chicago.
