Here is some rationale from the experts on some of their choices

Roos: Montreal was the one of only two teams to beat the Bruins twice in the regular season, but the other was Detroit (and we know how that ended up).  I think the Bs are on cruise control right now, whereas the Habs seem better on paper than they really are, thanks to facing a Lightning squad in round 1 that had a hobbled superstar and a goalie who might not even be in the NHL next season.

The Rangers are more of a well-oiled team than I thought, but even if you account for Fleury having a couple of hiccup games I still think the Pens take this, especially since Crosby and Malkin looked like they were just starting to hit their stride this past week, and even the best from King Henrik wouldn’t be able to contend with that.

With Minnesota’s situation in net possibly being an even bigger problem now than it was a few weeks ago (and that’s saying something) and Chicago arguably having put together the best four game stretch of any first round team in taking games 3-6 from the Blues, the Blackhawks should breeze into the next round.

Anaheim might be battered and bruised and with their own problems in net, but they also have the grit and depth to win.  At the same time the Kings might well have used up all their bad games in the San Jose series, and you don’t want to be facing down a red hot Jonathan Quick.  This should be the series to watch.
