Thoughts on Max Domi, Martin Brodeur, Ryan Malone and more …

Pick up the Fantasy Guide here – last update was Thursday and the next update will probably be Thursday again. But then we get into updates every three days…and then two days. Then daily updates the last dozen days of September and I kid you not – there will be times where I’ll update twice in a day. I don’t want a single key piece of info to slip by you. You need to be fully armed at the draft.

Finally fixed – the weird code issue in the ramblings for logged out users. Also apparently fixed (still testing) is that weird “JLIB…etc ” error code you had to refresh to clear, if you were logged in but returned to the site.

Why on earth would the Canadiens be interested in Martin Brodeur? Nostalgia aside, the mere act of doing that would kill team chemistry and team exuberance. I mean, to have your boss put the screws to not only someone who has been a great teammate (Peter Budaj) but to also screw over a guy who has paid his dues and earned that backup job (Dustin Tokarski)? I think such an act would overshadow any “honor” it would be to have a Hall-of-Famer on your team. My two cents. And in all fantasy league formats, I would rather have an empty bench space on my team than Martin Brodeur.

When I was updating the Guide last week I noticed an interesting signing by the Avalanche. Tomas Vincour signed with the squad after a one-year sabbatical in the KHL. I had Vincour making the team in 2013-14 and perhaps working his way up to the third line. He had little to prove at the AHL level, showing good second-line, two-way skills. But now, after a ho-hum season in Russia, he decides that it’s time to sign with his NHL team. You know, now that they’re deep and have a set roster. Well done, Vincour’s agent, well done.
