Your weekly tips on who to start (for cheap) in daily fantasy hockey for Saturday

Draft Kings Biggest Saturday Contest Can Be Found Here With Over $6000 in Prizes

Top Budget Plays

Centers

T.J. Oshie $3,000 – Listed as a center on DraftKings; Oshie  returned to action on Thursday night and promptly scored a goal against Nashville. On Saturday he will likely skate with Patrick Berglund and David Backes on the Blues 1B line. The Lehtera line will presumably skate top-line minutes but Hitchcock can roll these lines interchangeably. The Blues are 7-3 at home and will get a Capitals team playing back to back. At this price, it's pretty easy to roll with Oshie.

Centers

Steven Stamkos $7,800 – I like Stamkos at the top of the board, and he's priced under Crosby, Giroux and Malkin. You could go revenge factor for the Pens, but I'd rather take the more "sure-thing" in Steven Stamkos at home. The Lightning power-play is among the best in the league, and the Islanders penalty kill is among the worst. Outside of a few good games over the last week, the Islanders are one of the worst teams in the league in goals allowed. Tampa is a tremendous home team, and part of that home ice success is the play of Stamkos, who has favorable home splits (10 points and 41 shots in nine games). Stamkos is almost approaching Ovi status in home ice production.

Wingers

Phil Kessel $8,400 – My only note of caution here is that the Leafs are playing back to back and the second half is on the road; although the trip from Toronto to Buffalo is about as short as you can get. Kessel has been DFS gold so far this year, and has actually been more productive on the road. He has 13 points in just seven road games and is averaging 4.0 shots per game. I'd be more than disappointed if he doesn't come through with a multi-point effort.

Defensemen

Brent Burns $6,500 – Burns has four points in four games on the Sharks road-trip. I suppose you could make a case for some of the other top priced options, but Burns costs just a bit less and in a better position to accumulate points. He's second in the league among defenseman in points and shots. To top it off San Jose is 5th in the league in power-play percentage, and Columbus is in the bottom 3rd in the league on the penalty-kill. Since it's likely to be Curtis McElhinny between the pipes again for the Jackets, if you are spending toward to the top of the board you can't go wrong with Burns.

Goalie

Pekka Rinne $8,600 – I think you can flip a coin between Price and Rinne, but I like Pekka just a bit more. He's won four of his last five games and Winnipeg is near the bottom of the league in scoring. Although it's always very hard to predict them the Preds and Rinne are in prime position here for a shutout. Play him with confidence in all formats.
