DFS Thursday: Penguins and Golden Knights to Target

Like many fantasy managers, I scan the free agent market for each of my leagues. Sometimes I'm looking for replacement players due to injuries (or just questionable drafting), but just as often it's for a spot starter or a few games' gamble on a young guy… which brings up my quick comments before a DFS lineup for tonight.
Dylan Holloway, playing alongside Leon Draisaitl, is owned in just 10% of Yahoo leagues. Quinton Byfield, getting far more opportunity this year, 3%. But the guy I grabbed for tonight was Kiefer Sherwood. Who?? (Read Alex MacLean's Ramblings from yesterday.). Owned in just 1% of leagues, his 2021-22 AHL stats were 36 goals/ 75 points in just 57 contests (1.32 ppg). And currently playing on the Ryan Johansen – Nino Niederreiter 2nd line with the Predators. 1%? He's the singular reason that Philip Tomasino was sent to the AHL.
So, instead of eating crow, here I am smiling for winning Tuesday. My picks were spot on for some, especially the Vegas guys, though Mika Zibanejad instead of Artemi Panarin would've paid much better.
Today, I'm playing for the +/- bonanza on Yahoo!, available by choosing my stacks AGAINST Arizona and Chicago, both of whom open on the road. Tristan Jarry ($32), Evgeni Malkin ($24), Kris Letang ($24), and Rickard Rakell ($18) seem like safe bets. For Vegas, I'll still play Jack Eichel ($26) and "value" defenseman Brayden McNabb ($17). This gives me $35 for Juuse Saros vs Dallas, and $13 for Alexi Lafrenière. My remaining amount goes to the aforementioned Sherwood ($11), making a mini stack for the Predators.
Tonight is the first "full" roster day for most of my fantasy leagues, so I'd be glued my cellphone – except I have NHL tickets to watch my picks live! Good luck to all!
