DFS Thursday: Oilers and Panthers Look Primed For Offense
Brad Hayward
2022-11-03
After Tuesday, I've decided to take the easy way out – just pick Edmonton's top power play, the best goalkeeper, and leave the rest of the card blank. If this works one time in five, you'd be ahead!
Ok, back to reality. Consecutive shutouts in the World Series, and I'm taking the "over" tonight. For fantasy hockey, looking at where the over could be the right play also, and a goalie who's overdue.
The New Jersey Devils visit the aforementioned Edmonton Oilers. These are two of the top-7 scoring offensive teams, and I don't see any of the potential goalies being able to shut down the barrage. It's just WHO do we pick?
And I refuse to believe that Florida will remain in the bottom half of the NHL for goals scored – they'll awaken soon, maybe tonight?
My lineup: Edmonton stack Leon Draisaitl ($8500), Ryan Nugent-Hopkins ($6000), Kailer Yamamoto ($2500), and Evan Bouchard ($4300). Panthers Alex Barkov ($7400) and Sergei Bobrovsky ($7400). LA Kings (at Chicago) Adrian Kempe ($4900) and Drew Doughty ($5000), and surprisingly inexpensive Chandler Stephenson ($4000).
Connor McDavid was valued at $9900, which put me farther down the list for my other picks, but we'll see….
