Here's the latest injury news from across the NHL! If you're looking for information about a specific player and don't see their name in this article, there probably haven't been any significant updates about their progress since our last article. If you ever need injury updates for a specific player, shoot me a message on Twitter @BrennanDeSouza.

Anthony Stolarz – The Ducks netminder is dealing with a lower-body injury and did not travel with the team through Eastern Canada, so he won't be available against the Habs on Wednesday night.

John Gibson – An undisclosed injury caused Gibson to leave Tuesday's game against Toronto during the second period. There were no real updates after the game, as coach Dallas Eakins simply said it was too early to know the severity of the injury.

David Krejci – Has missed Boston's last two games due to a lower-body injury. It sounds like Krejci's absence is mostly for precautionary reasons, as coach Jim Montgomery said the veteran center would be playing if it were the playoffs. There's no rush to get him back in the lineup when the Bruins sit atop the league standings with a sparkling 23-4-1 record. With Krejci sidelined, Pavel Zacha has stepped up as the team's second-line center.

Elias LindholmMissed Monday's game against the Canadiens due to an upper-body injury. Although he didn't play, he took part in morning skate before the game, which suggests the injury isn't too serious. He skated with the team again on Wednesday morning, so I expect he'll be available against Vancouver on Wednesday night.

MacKenzie WeegarA non-COVID illness kept him out of the lineup against the Canadiens on Monday. Although he didn't play, he was listed as a game-time decision, which suggests the injury isn't too serious. He was on the ice for Wednesday's morning skate, so it seems he'll return against the Canucks on Wednesday night.

Sebastian AhoCarolina's star center is day-to-day with a minor lower-body injury and hasn't been on the ice for the team's recent practices. Coach Rod Brind'Amour said it's more important for the team's injured players to get healthy than to have them play through things at this point. Based on that comment, I don' think Aho's injury is anything serious, so I wouldn't expect him to be sidelined long term.

Frederik AndersenPracticed with the team on Thursday – his first practice in just over a month. Coach Rod Brind'Amour said afterwards that Andersen is not close to playing, but is taking the right steps. There's no rush to get him back in the lineup as 23-year-old Pyotr Kochetkov is coming off back-to-back shutouts, sporting a 2.02 GAA and .926 save percentage through 12 games this season. Andersen has been sidelined since November 6th with a knee injury. Since he has a history of knee injuries, I'm sure the team is being extra cautious with his rehab this time around.

Max Pacioretty – The Hurricanes' forward was on the ice for Wednesday's practice, wearing a no-contact jersey. Although he's skated on his own before previous practices, I believe this is the first time he's stayed on to practice with a group of teammates. On August 10th, Pacioretty underwent surgery to repair a torn Achilles and was expected to be sidelined for six months. He's probably still a ways away from returning, but this is a step in the right direction.

Alex StalockChicago's netminder has been a full participant in the team's recent practices. He's been in concussion protocol since November 1st, experiencing some good days and some bad days. Recovering from a concussion is usually an unpredictable process that requires day-to-day monitoring, so there's no concrete timetable for his return. With that being said, the fact he's been able to participate in back-to-back practices is an encouraging sign.

Evan Rodrigues – Was on the ice taking contact during Wednesday's optional team skate and it's possible he returns for Thursday's game against the Sabres.

Bowen Byram – The 21-year-old defenseman has not been skating recently. He's been sidelined with a lower-body injury since November 5th.

Josh MansonIt sounds like the Avalanche defenseman will be sidelined for roughly three more weeks because of a lower-body injury.

Joonas KorpisaloThe Blue Jackets netminder will be sidelined for a week or two because of a lower-body injury. Through 12 games this year, he sports a 3.53 GAA and .903 save percentage.

Zach WerenskiReports indicate that the shoulder injury Werenski underwent in late-November turned out to be more extensive than originally expected. As a result, his recovery will probably follow the long end of the initial four-to-six-month timetable.

Adam BoqvistHas been skating recently and the team hopes to have him back in the lineup within the next two weeks. With Werenski out for the rest of the season, Boqvist should see increased opportunity on Columbus' top power-play unit this year. He's been sidelined with a broken foot since October 25th

Dylan LarkinLeft Tuesday's game against the Hurricanes after he was hit in the hand by a puck. He won't be available for Wednesday's tilt with the Wild, but his status beyond that remains up in the air.

Anton Lundell – Recently recovered from a non-COVID illness but is still dealing with an upper-body injury that's been labelled as more than a day-to-day issue. He has been skating recently, but there's no timetable for his return.

Carter VerhaegheHad been dealing with a non-COVID illness but it sounds like he's feeling better and could be an option against the Penguins on Thursday.

Spencer KnightThe Panthers' netminder has been sidelined with a non-COVID illness recently. Tuesday marked the first time he was on the ice facing shots since he first fell sick a week ago. It sounds like he'll be available for Thursday's game against Pittsburgh.

Viktor ArvidssonMissed Tuesday's battle with Buffalo as his wife was due to give birth to their second child.

Ryan HartmanHas been skating recently and is expected to be a full participant in Thursday's practice. That suggests a return is imminent. The 28-year-old forward has been on the shelf with an upper-body injury since November 1st.

Cole Caufield – Left Monday's clash with Calgary after taking a hit and sustaining an upper-body injury. Fortunately, it doesn't look like he'll miss any time as he was skating in his regular spot during morning skate on Wednesday, so he's expected to play against the Senators.

Mike Matheson – The Canadiens' defenseman is day-to-day with a lower-body injury. He won't be in the lineup against Ottawa on Wednesday.

David SavardWill be sidelined for two to three weeks because of an upper-body injury.

Sean MonahanA lower-body injury will keep Monahan out of the lineup for the next two to three weeks.

Mackenzie BlackwoodOn Tuesday, Blackwood was assigned to New Jersey's AHL affiliate as part of a conditioning loan. It's expected he'll play a few games in the minors before he's called up for a return to action with the Devils. He's already been a full participant in practice with the Devils', so this seems like the final checkpoint in his return to NHL action. An MCL sprain had kept him sidelined for the past five weeks.

Anthony BeauvillierHas missed New York's last two games because of a lower-body injury. He's been practicing with the team recently and is on their current road trip – which includes four more games – so it doesn't sound like he'll be sidelined for much longer.

Adam PelechThe Islanders' defenseman is officially day-to-day with an upper-body injury. Pelech left last Tuesday's game against the Blues after he was hit into the boards. He was holding his head and looking dazed afterwards, so there's concern he suffered a concussion on the play. He didn't travel with the team as they started a five-game road trip on Tuesday, but he could join them on the road at some point.

Tim StutzleThe Senators' young star will be sidelined for at least a week due to a shoulder strain. Fortunately, he didn't suffer any structural damage, so this is a more favourable outcome than originally feared. With Stutzle sidelined, Derick Brassard will move up to center Claude Giroux and Brady Tkachuk on the top line.

Josh NorrisHas recently been skating with his teammates without taking any contact. It sounds like Norris is progressing well, but he won't be re-evaluated until after Christmas. If the medical team isn't satisfied with the progress he's made at that point, he may have to undergo shoulder surgery – which would cause him to miss the rest of the season. However, if all goes well, there's a chance he returns in January.

Jeff PetryThe 35-year-old defenseman was recently placed on long-term injured reserve (LTIR) with an upper-body injury. He's required to miss 10 games and 24 days as a result of the transaction, so he won't be eligible to return until January 8th at the earliest. He may be sidelined even longer if he hasn't recovered by then. Reports indicate he doesn't require surgery for the injury.

Jason ZuckerThe Penguins' forward is week-to-week with a lower-body injury.

Alexander BarabanovDid not play against the Coyotes on Tuesday due to a lingering lower-body injury. Although he didn't play, he was listed as a game-time decision and was on the ice for morning skate prior to the game. That would suggest the injury isn't too serious and he should be back relatively soon.

Justin SchultzWas a late scratch for Tuesday's tilt with Tampa. He was on the ice for morning skate and had been labelled good to go by coach Dave Hakstol, so it's unclear why he was sidelined at the last minute. He took a hit up high during Sunday's game against the Panthers, so that's likely when he sustained whatever injury that kept him out on Tuesday.

Pavel BuchnevichHad been sidelined with a lower-body injury recently but is expected to play against the Oilers on Thursday.

Nicholas RobertsonThe 21-year-old winger will be out for six-to-eight weeks as he recovers from a shoulder injury. The recovery timetable isn't as long as originally feared since he opted for rehab instead of surgery.

Morgan RiellyThe Leafs' defenseman is eligible to come off LTIR on December 17th. However, he hasn't been skating recently, so I don't expect him to return from his knee injury any time soon. Toronto has been on a roll lately, winning nine of their last 10 games, so there's no need to rush Rielly back into the lineup.

Jack Eichel – The Golden Knights' star forward is day-to-day with a lower-body injury. He was recently placed on injured reserve – a transaction which comes with a mandatory week-long absence. As a result, he won't be available for Thursday's game against Chicago, but his status for Saturday's game against the Islanders remains up in the air.

Shea TheodoreVegas' defenseman is out week-to-week with a lower-body injury.

Darcy KuemperPracticed recently but remains day-to-day with an upper-body injury. Charlie Lindgren has done very well in Kuemper's absence, winning each of his last five starts.

Martin Fehervary – Is on Injured Reserve with an upper-body injury and has not been skating recently.

Nicklas BackstromTravelled with the team on their latest road trip – marking the first time he went on the road with his teammates this season. He's been ramping up the intensity at practice recently – although he still isn't taking any contact, and there's still no concrete timetable for his return.

Tom WilsonJoined his teammates on their latest road trip, marking the first time he travelled with them this season. Wilson has been skating with the team recently, gradually increasing the intensity of his skates. He still hasn't been cleared for contact and there's no timetable for his return at this point.

Nikolaj EhlersHas been skating recently – a big step in his recovery from sports hernia surgery. However, even best-case scenarios at this point suggest he'll be out for another three-to-four weeks.
